Have you notised how anything new get better noticed then older stuff. Cowboy Bepop was made in 1998, and naruto just started running.
Naruto is new and exciting, people will get over it.
At least thats what I think. I may be wrong, Naruto may be new DBZ or One Piece. Or Pokemon. (Its true, pokemon did take over finnland)

Never figured One Piece was *that* big. But then it doesn't interest me much. I only even heard about it around a year ago, and other than some debates over the dub quality, I hear or see little about it.Maelstorm wrote:Have you notised how anything new get better noticed then older stuff. DBZ and Pokemon are probably close to the same level in popularity and reach. However, DBZ has held up much longer...it was released here well before Pokemon and is still reasonably strong(with some help from GT) though finally losing some steam, while Pokemon seems to be significantly fading already, replaced by Yu Gi Oh and such. I would say Naruto is matching Pokemon already among anime fans, and it's still in fansubs. If the current reaction to Naruto among the anime community carries over to the mainstream US market, then Naruto will eclipse the likes of DBZ and Pokemon easily, And it actually half-deserves it from what little I've seen. Whether we like it or not, it will be the next DBZ, 99% probability I give it.
Wonder if they'll continue using Linkin Park + Naruto, like the Linkinball Z AMVs, or something else will run rampant with Naruto?
Oh, and for the original topic of this thread, AMV contests at the conventions are a good way to see what more open-minded people think of your videos if that helps. AWA this year for example had a couple videos with Naruto and DBZ stuff on the Expo list, and I think only one Naruto won an award(it was pretty good...well, pretty funny too).

Whoa, hold up.MomochiZabuza wrote:Now the cowboy bebop amv has been posted for 3 days, and it has 90 hits and 30 downloads. My naruto amv, which has been on the site for 1 day has 80 hits and 24 downloads.
You're complaining about stats on videos that have been up for... three days and one day, respectively?!?
I... I have nothing else to add to that.
