Hey now, remember the only event that got the VAT up to the "standing room only" capacity was the AWA retrospective. 7 and 8-year-old vids were being shown, and people were coming INTO the room in droves.

I've mentioned the "AMV archaeology" panel to you, right? Rich and Vlad, you know I'll be tapping your expertise for good pre-AWA vids to show, right?
Well, mostly showing vids, very little talking. Mostly thought of the idea while watching the recently remasted Bubble Gum Crisis collection (very nice box set BTW).

Still have the CPF AMV tape if you need it for one of yours (or Jeff's) showings as well.

Like to talk to you more about it though. i've never run a panel in my life... @_@

Though.... also contemplating doing one about favorite opening and closing sequences... but that one's probably going to be different... hmmm....

Meanwhile, watch Giant Robo yet? It has your favorite dub on there.

Nah, no time. So many other things in line...

Wouldn't happen to have a link, would you? I searched for "Breakaway" in the title and got two from this year, nothing more.

The oldest video in the database, taken solely from premiere date, is I Can't Break Away by MisterFurious, followed closely by my Young Punks on Bikes.

Anything else in the database with a premiere date earlier than these two is the result of bad information when entered into the system. To be honest, it looks more like the birthdates of those who gave the information!

Vlad, what's the earliest one you've got on here?

My earliest on here is 1993... Before that I did a lot of live action music videos....

There are about two that were considered one of the first shown at an event back in 83 (impossible to tell if someone else ever did one beyond that). That being one done to Yomato using Beatles "All You Need Is Love.. I head the original does not exsits (It turned do dust was the explination) and only a remake exists which I've seen

The other is Mr Roboto to the original Gundam series... Both were made by the same person, James Kaposztas... He is a staff member of Otakon and at the AMV panel in 2003, he gave away several VHS tapes with his video on them...

This board started Thu Jun 27, 2002 2:02 pm
however, there was a board and a site b4 that, and the first AMV listed on this site is from 1999...

That covers your question?
