A number of the links names have changed from what is shown in the image I post later in the thread. The changes however are for the better and they should be a little more apparent now. Hope this helps.

You haven't entered a video entry, I dont see any on your profile.

So if I do this in Windows Movie Maker 2, I will be hated? Cool. I'm down with that.

My latest upload was a .WMV and I thought the encode turned out very well. Granted, it wasn't edited on WMM2 and I'm far from a novice, but that should show that more often than not it's not the file format or the software, but the experience of the editor that causes problems. That's why these guides are here to help folks out.

1) Download AMV
2) Watch AMV. FFDshow is recommend for playback.

i deleted like 40 gigs of amvs on my pc cause i was low on memory space, don't worry i backed them up dvd format, but it really improved my speed on my pc slightly, like less lag while workin with windows movie maker 2 etc. just thought ya amv peeps wanted to know. i'm guesin with more space on the hd, the memory could be accessed more easily with programs or whatever, i'm noob but i think i'm learnin from experience
