A subtitle issue

The whole point with a subtitle is that you need to understand what the are saying/singing/whatever, right?

I've done music videos where the singing was in a foreign language, and understanding of the lyrics was not essential to understanding the video. The vocals were just there to carry the melody, in effect.

This isn't about if I'm going to use subtitle or not it's about what subtutile that would be most prefered. And what you just said is exactly the same as I said... If you need to understand the song in a music video you use subtitle if not then don't.

OK, I'm here again. Long time no see!

I need some help here. I'm going to make an AMV with many songs from the same band. The problem is that the band has alot of memebers singing in three different languades. Swedish, English and Spanish. I know Swedish and English, but I only know one Spanish word, and thats not enugh.

One again: This is not about if I'm going to use subtitle or translate the songs.

Could someone that speaks good Spanish and English please send me a PM with your e-mail so I can send the songs to anyone who'd like to helpe me.

I should be more active in this forum...

Well I can't help you with translating (Though I suggest you try an online translator... sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.)

But since I missed this thread the first time around I'll throw in my two cents. I did a bit of reaserch on soft subs when I was playing around with an AMV to a Finnish song. It seemed to me that the best option by far was JCD's:

It's not to much work to get the subs, but best of all, you can play the subless version without any special software whatsoever.

I don't trust online translators. I've seen far too many bad translations with those. But I guess there are a few that works quite well. But it takes alot to translate a song, in my opinion atleast. But thanks for the tip anyway.

You might ask Triggit, he is from Spain and at least types english very well
