It can also be said, that in terms of content, DBZ is very similar to Naruto. You can see, in comparison to an anime such as Bleach, or Evangelion, most episodes would be split into action parts and...non...action...parts...anyway, as you can see with anime such as Naruto and DBZ, you have many episodes following on with action, and a focus on only one or two seperate character plots at a time. Like in DBZ, you would see the main fight, and perhaps other people talking about the fight. You wouldn't see any other characters having seperate fights. The same can be said of Naruto. Look at the recent episodes. It was watching either Rock Lee and Gaara fighting Kimi, or Naruto chasing Sasuke. We haven't flashed back to Konoha to see how everyone else is doing or anything like that. Not only that, but there is a similar character set. You have the lovable idiot main character, serious dark secondary character, cock tease female character, etc.
