I don't know about roxio, but WindowsMovieMaker2 does work for making AMVs. But I have to warn you, MovieMaker crashes like there's no tomorrow, so save your work every few minutes, don't delete your source material, and if it crashes give it a minute or more and it should be back to normal.

Movie Maker actually is the best FREE program for AMVs, anyway like him said, it CRASHES every day, and it do it many, MANY times, if you don't want to suicide, save, save and SAVE.

Anyway, if you want a free program, this one 's the best.

It's surpsing how many people have Roxio now...but you should start off with Windows Movie Maker, and then later on to Roxio. You'll probably get mad at Roxio at first, then later on be like 'Wow, I didn't know it could do THAT'

Wrong.
FREE program
Wrong.
it CRASHES every day
Wrong.

I just had to do that :P

If your using windows, the most powerfull video editor that you woent have to pay for is probably openvip. However, for the sake of convenience i'd recomend starting out with wmm2.1 . its got a good user base, which is helpfull if you have any problems.

wmm is very good for starting off. I made my first vid on wmm and it was shit but thats cuz i didnt know what i was doin, not cuz of wmm. I made my second vid using premiere and its decent but could easily have been reproduced in wmm (I only used fades and photoshop once). So basically, until u have a feel for editing, u should stick with something like wmm becuase of its uber user friendliness.

I never used WMM, never ever. I started out on Ulead Video Studio, and upgraded to Premiere 5 later, then Premiere 6.

I tried Premiere 7, but it sucked.
