AMV made from Manga?

I was thinking of ideas for AMV's and aside from using a video camera to stir things up and add in some originality my concentration led to the idea of making one entirely from Manga.

Anyway, my question is: has this been done before? From Manga, comics or graphic novels, and if so, where I can I find them?

It wouldn't be an easy project but I'd like to know if it can be achieved with a good outcome, so if you know of any examples then please post a link to them and your opinions (if you have any).

I made one that was partially with Manga... but I've never seen one that is entirely with that.

I'm actually finishing up a manga music video, but I'm still debating on whether or not I should upload it. It turned out kind of...odd. Here's the video description - most of my thoughts on the project are there.

I think there's a "Du Hast" vid make from mostly the Rurouni Kenshin mangas (Jinchuu Arc to be exact) and the Samurai X OVAs floating around. I know--I downloaded it once. ^_^ It's an Enishi character profile.

What the HELL does that mean? Please speak in first person or Jen is going to get very mad. No offense, forum-n00b, but I prefer my comprehension level high when communicating with other folks.

Anyway, manga videos are a tricky bit. Just having still images flash or move across the screen can get boring quickly if it's not done properly. While I have not seen any strictly-manga videos, I have seen this, which uses manga stills artistically to lead into the video. At least, I think it's that video. For some reason, my right click is completely gone and I can't even click normally to download videos I've already downloaded. Cod, I hate my computer. Anyway, I'll recheck tomorrow (when my computer is working!) to see if that indeed is the one. If not, I'll find it.

Moral of the story: manga videos are a double-edged sword. I'd like to see some just to know if they work, but I don't think they would ever be fan-favorites - no matter how talented the creator. Okay, so maybe Kevin Caldwell could do it, but he's a demi-god. ~_~ Damn/bless him.

"sessha" is what Himura Kenshin calls himself in the Rurouni Kenshin manga. Roughly translated, it means something like "this [clumsy, unworthy] one". When a person calls themselves that, it shows that the person is humble, and it is a form of respectful speech towards others. I like to use "sessha" because it shows other people more respect, really, than just plain ol' "I"; of course, I could always talk like Gollum from LOTR, yessss, precioussss? We coulds, couldn't we, gollum ? And all I meant was that the manga you mentioned was one that I hadn't come across--which is perhaps a good thing. ^_^ However, "sessha" hates to judge something unless "sessha" knows something of the story. Sessha doesn't knock other people's speech; please don't knock sessha's. :-p

Mixing Japanese into everyday speach only works if the word has meaning on its own "sessha" does not, as it is usually followed by something else and always appears at the beggining of a sentence:

"Sessha has not come across this anime" would make more sense, but still be slightly pointless:

1) Sessha is seldom used by the japanese anymore, the same as the "de gozaru" sentence ending, it is an archaic sentence form, hence it's use by only one character in an anime set in the 1800s.

2) If you were going to say something like that it would make sense to put the whole sentence in Japanese, rendering it illegible to many of the forumgoers.

3) While putting random words in Japanese into sentences is kinda fun, its only generally of any use when you are embarassed hense the main one used (here at least): gomen(asai) or sometimes arigatou (slightly debateable in use as the characters for the word don't actually sound exactly like that).
