Sessha still likes how sessha writes, de gozaru. '^_^ Thanks for the info, though, Zaphod_Beeblebrox--dono; sessha still is painfully ignorant of most Japanese. Sessha is, however, becoming better at understanding English spoken through (very) thick Japanese accents. And yes, sessha knew it was archaic, but sessha has seen this type of writing before in several places, de gozaru. Besides, most of what sessha knows of Japanese is not good for polite conversation, de gozaru. Sessha just likes writing this way, de gozaru; if sessha had known it would be such a big, annoying deal for others (at least sessha doesn't use profanity, or insult others, and sessha admits to being ignorant, but is trying to learn) then sessha would never have started going to these forums. Sessha is going back to just downloading.
Wake up. Otherwise you will die.

That's fine for talking to your friends, but it doesn't fly in forums. People don't understand what you're trying to say when you write like that. That's why I responded with that comment. Your one-liner was so incomprehensible that I tried for several minutes to understand it and still had no clue what you were referring to.luthien_tinuviel2788 wrote:I just like writing this way, de gozaru;
Profanity? For your information, humble one, that's the first time ever that I have used profanity on a forum anywhere. Do not EVER lump me in with those buffoons who use f*** every other word. That I would ever swear on a publicly viewed website, my dear, is a testament to how frustrated I was.luthien_tinuviel2788 wrote:(at least I don't use profanity,
At what point were you insulted? If you felt insulted at some point, I do apologize. That was never my intention.luthien_tinuviel2788 wrote:or insult others,
Good. Consider yourself taught. You've been given a lesson in forum etiquette.luthien_tinuviel2788 wrote:and I admit to being ignorant, but am trying to learn)
What, precisely, is "big" and "annoying" about two little responses? You're overreacting a bit, don't you think? Besides, if you stopped coming to the forums, it would be a shame. Everyone's input is appreciated. It is appreciated even more so when it can be understood. I have nothing against you personally. I know nothing about you, so how could I? I simply wish that we could all communicate in a way that everyone can follow. So, I pounced on you. You're not the first, and it could have been anyone.luthien_tinuviel2788 wrote:if I had known it would be such a big, annoying deal for others then I would never have started going to these forums.
Try not to take things personally. I'm only trying to increase the efficiency of the flow of information between the good folks here at the forums.
Besides, I have a friend who pounced on me the same way (but for a different reason) the first time I posted.

PS: The Black Sparrow - my apologies for monopolizing your thread this way. I simply didn't want luthien to misunderstand my intentions, that's all.

Also, if you're going to use Japanese at least make it right, the "de gozaru" form is one of many, it does not cover all sentences, there are many variations: de gozaryo and de gozaran being only two, if you insist on using it, at least make sure you're using the correct ending for your sentence.luthien_tinuviel2788 wrote:de gozaru
Sorry if it sounded like a flame but it just annoys me when people get things like that wrong.

good grief
"Thou shalt be courteous at all times including visiting conventions, forum posts, opinions given, and opinions received. Respect other's judgment though you may disagree with it. If you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all."
Humble--sessha tries; kindling or cat toy--no. Sessha respects your right to your opinions. Now will you please do the same for sessha?
Sessha has been calm. Sessha has been polite. But sessha has had enough. Sessha never asked or wanted your advice or opinions, but sessha respects them and agrees to your right to them. However--sessha does not appreciate being "pounced" on. If you and your friends do that, great; but, as you said, "that doesn't fly in forums."
Good grief! Sessha just wanted to post info on the vid that sessha had come across, not get involved in this!
"That's fine for talking to your friends, but it doesn't fly in forums. People don't understand what you're trying to say when you write like that."
Hmmm. Sessha explained very nicely, de gozaru. It is not offensive language--for goodness' sake, it's overly-polite!!!
"Profanity? For your information, humble one, that's the first time ever that I have used profanity on a forum anywhere. Do not EVER lump me in with those buffoons who use f*** every other word"
Sessha wasn't necessarily referring to you. Unfortunately, there is a wide number of people who use profanity in forums. And even if sessha
was referring to you, how was sessha to know that information? Sessha has never met you before, remember?
"Good. Consider yourself taught. You've been given a lesson in forum etiquette."
Etiquette goes both ways. So does courtesy.
In other words: back off. Sessha has seen your opinions, respects them, but is under no obligation to obey them. Correct? Sessha once looked forward to posting in AMV forums, but now dreads it. Please, feel free to talk of anything, of cabbages and kings, or jabberwocky or cherry pocky, but leave sessha out of it. Understood? You needn't worry about replying to this post--sessha will no longer be posting here, since anyone short of omniscience is obviously unwelcome.
Sessha sincerely hopes you have a very nice day--just one not involving sessha. Good-day.

What a shame...
*takes out her dead-horse beating stick*
Pity, though. Luthien was spunky (in a good way); I think we could have become friends were it not for this.

Don't worry, Sparrow - you'll not see me post off-topic here again. I apologize once more for doing it in the first place. In fact, I'll try to make it up to you by searching for some more manga videos. By the way, the Love Hina video I suggested was indeed the one with the manga stills at the beginning.

Yeah, I know of two Ranma AMVs that used the manga only and they turned out really well. They are difinitely two of the best AMVs I've seen. They can be found here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=51715
