Can You Feel the Love Tonight

Post by LadyArianrod » Fri May 20, 2005 3:58 pm

I was wondering if anyone could suggest an anime that would work well with the original version of "Can You Feel the Love Tonight"... not the commonly-used Elton John version.

I'd like to see a genuinely sweet video about a realistic romance done to this video. Even so, I don't think it would work well with an angst or tragedy video.

The one I'm talking about is the song performed by the original voices of Simba and Nala.

When I read these lines, I actually thought of Van and Hitomi from Escaflowne.

[Simba:]
So many things to tell her
But how to make her see
The truth about my past? Impossible!
She'd turn away from me

[Nala:]
He's holding back, he's hiding
But what, I can't decide
Why won't he be the king I know he is
The king I see inside?

Any other ideas? :)

Oh yeah, and doesn't this video use the movie version of the song?

Lessee... ::thinks:: kings, secrets, romances, not Escaflowne...

Um, CardCaptor Sakura has a lot of romance, and difficult communication...

Yu-Gi-Oh kinda has secrets about being a king, there are some, but not a whole lot of romantic scenes... mebbe you could do multi-anime...

Fushigi Yuugi, the guy has kind of a shifty past..

Hmm.. seems like it's easiar to cast that first introductory part than the second half.

full metal alchemist has a troubled guilty conciense for a hero, and a girl who is genuinely concerned for him - I don't know if it's romantic in nature yet...

magic knight rayearth maybe - lantis and hikaru, fuu and ferio, even clef and umi..

dnangel, a guy with a secret looking for love... Eagh! Maybe it could work for anything!! My brain hurts

inu-yasha,
Making an amv, is rather like being the director of a Broadway show, where you have a million dancers and each of them only knows one step.

Well what I though of at first was Inuyasha. It seems to fit because Their relationship is just so (like mine).
Getting clips clips for episode 48 since what simba siad pretty much telling what happneed when Kaogme saw kikyo with Inuyasha.
Come paradise isn't that far...

Fushigi Yuugi, His and Her Circumstances (he was ashamed of his past), and Escaflowne probably would work though I haven't seen it.

How about Rurouni Kenshin? It's about a guy who was an assassin years ago and is constantly haunted by his past (Kenshin), and is deeply loved by a woman who is willing to overlook who he was in the past because she loves who he is now. (Kaoru)^_^ Clips from the first episode would probably work best, but any RK clips are good. ^_^

escaflowne would work!! hahah the whole "king" thing could be told through the clips you use... that's what's so creative about making amvs telling the stories in the same but different way with the music.

Wow! Hard choice. I'd say either Inu-Yasha or Escaflowne, your choice. I mean it is your video. OK, I'm leaving before I make myself look even stupider!

If you're gonna use the movie version of the song, I would definitely use Inuyasha. I would switch back and forth between scenes about Kikyo for his part and scenes about his demon-pissed-off-ness for her part.

If you want to use the REAL version of the song, I would use something like Love Hina or a tribute to Miroku and Sango from Inuyasha. It's a 4-minute song, so use whatever is in abundance.
