A long time ago, when I was into Sailor Moon, me and my sister would go download all of the SM attack/transformation clips we could find. When we were searching, we found a video that put lots of SM clips together to the song "Carry On". We both thought it was really cool and watched it a lot, but there weren't any credits or anything so we didn't realize who made it (I still have no clue who did) or how it was made. When KaZaA came out, we were still downloading SM clips and downloaded Blue Mercury by Aluminum Studios. We found it completely awesome, and went to his website and found out about AMVs. From there, we looked for more AMVs on KaZaA and found an FF8 video to Vertical Horizon's "Everything You Want". We realized that it's possible to make AMVs using FF8 cutscenes, and researched that (using the org's guides, I believe). We started editing using Pinnacle Studios 7 and downloaded FF scenes. Good times.

Well, Mine's a long story as well, I used to download lots of DBZ Fansubbed eps. from KaZaA, and a friend once donwloaded SupaaVegita's Kryptonite video, and showed it to me, I was just like: "Wow, That's Awesome", that was like in 2000-2001, Then I got lots of AMV's from KaZaA, and well, one day in December of 2003 I got temperature and just stayed at home, then I just looked for some AMV's sites, and read a Video's Comment, the comments said the video had been done with 'Windows Movie Maker', so I was like: "Hey, I've seen the name before", and then I started editing.. Then I got Premiere and blah, blah, blah.. I still miss those old days when I made a 'Passion Of The Christ' Trailer with DBZ Footage

Fucking scary. That's almost identical to my story... except it was a few years before you, and I didn't have a sibling involved in AMVing.Sierra Lorna wrote:A long time ago, when I was into Sailor Moon, me and my sister would go download all of the SM attack/transformation clips we could find. old thread... heh read it all.. but since i wasnt on the forums a year ago (on the site but not the forums), i suppose i can tell my story..
I BLAME MY FRIEND ERIC.
the whole story is on my profile, but basically as I was getting into anime my friend Eric exposed me to a bunch of AMVs as well... then I downloaded them myself off of file sharing programs, as a means to see what Anime I should look up next.... then in my *caugh* n00bness I thaught I could do the same thing, make an AMV... hahahahaha... I have improved alot, but I am sure that I have a long way to go still...
anywho... I am here now lol. basically I knew about AMVs and the site and everything since oh, maybe around 2001 or so... but I never joined till a year ago (2003) cause uhhh I donno Livejournal was too time consuming, and yea... I dont write as much in el jay anymore.

He took clips I made with dbz vhs tapes and my first capture card and starting making AFI videos to them. That inspired me and the rest is history.
