When you put down the song pleas also put down the Creator that way i can know exactly which vid your talking about

As for the original question, I've gotten hooked on songs through AMVs many times.

Actually, right now I'm listening to a CD that I bought because I'd seen three AMVs with the songs from it and gotten hooked all three times. Whether I like it or not. :p

And if I can do the same with one of my videos, it's an extra-special victory. (whee.) I use music that I like, and I'm always keen on getting other people hooked on things I like.

AMV's have shown me songs that I never previously heard and grew to enjoy. But sometimes AMV's do make me appreciate some songs more than I previously did.

There have been both ways for me... it all depends on if i am looking up a song/artist or of i am looking up the anime....

alot of times the song will make me want to see the anime, and will get me interested in that, and a good number of times i have come aross vids where I looked up for the anime and loved the song.

sometimes the vids are good sometimes they arent... in a couple of instances i didnt like the vid at all, but the song appealed to me (so many The Killers - Mr Brightside videos... love the song!! but cant seem to find a really fitting AMV to it, I am thinking of making one eventually, but yea... gotta find the correct angle, not to insult anyone but yea...) but sometimes the vid is so good that i cant help but like the song cause it reminds me of the awesome vid.

you know its really a good video though if while youre listening to the song on the raido, or CD or where ever and you start to visualize the video in your head... (unless its something you made yourself, then its cause the video is impounded in your head) lol...

or you know you have become really amv obssesed with AMV when youre in a lingerie shop and you hear a song creeping out of the speakers and you start to shout Euphoria!!! lol... (true story, its the only other place I have heard the song lol)

anyways, i think that its pretty accurate that some AMVs can inspire you to like a song, and some can inspire you to like the anime too...

and some amvs, you cant just look up or download the songs, because they used original/a friend's music... for instance First Crush I used music that a friend of mine created. I also had his permission to use it, but it doesnt get many downloads, and as far as i know you cant download it cause its not on *caughfilesharingprogramscaugh* the internet. but I did give a link to his site in the profile for the vid incase people were curious about the music.

anywho i guess thats my two cents. lol
