Hmm...I saw this thread when you first posted it, but I wasn't really sure what to make of the idea. After some thought, I came up with two ideas.
1. My first thought was Angelic Layer (also a CLAMP creation, like X, if you don't know). It seemed like a really good song for describing how the main character Misaki learns little by little how to rely on herself, and not lean on other people so much. If you haven't seen the anime, you should. It's far more lighthearted than X, but it still holds many of the "inner conflict" themes that CLAMP is famous for. Of course, the video would probably have to have some battling in it, but I'd like to see more of a profile of Misaki if possible.
2. My second thought, as an afterthought, actually, was more of Hisoka and Tsuzuki profile. They each go through hardships of the past and present, but each ends up being stronger in the end. This idea isn't as prominent in my mind as the first, but it still is viable - if you feel where I'm coming from, of course.
Hope that helps. Actually, I hope you've seen those anime more than anything...otherwise, those ideas mean nothing, don't they?
As always, Farewell, Good Luck, and Happy AMV-ing!

I think Hikaru Shidou from Magic Knight Rayearth, Season 2, would be a good character for that.
Spoiler:
Spoiler:
Primarily, the part of the show where her sword is broken by Nova and she basically loses her power and even her faith in herself. She's pretty much alone at that point, not able to join the other Knights, and then later kidnapped by Nova and soon falls into a complete state of despair.
You could also weave in scenes of Nova and her conflicting, since Nova is the dark part of her heart that was split from her when she and the Knights killed Emeraude.

Let's see.. loner.. care to the wind.. takes off on his own...
First thing that popped into my head was Riku of Kingdom Hearts.
Next thing that entered my head was Kaiba of Yu-Gi-Oh.
Maybe Van from Escaflowne..
Len of Shaman King..
Full Metal Alchemist could work.

Making an amv, is rather like being the director of a Broadway show, where you have a million dancers and each of them only knows one step.

I personally would want to see a Yu Yu Hakusho one. Or, if you use more than one anime, make Yu Yu one of the anime you put in it. There just isn't enough Yu Yu AMVs. Ha ha. Then again, I also thought about InuYasha and Kikyou while reading the lyrics, so I think that'd work also. Does that help any?
