okay I worked out nhow to make it local but how do I get it from windows movie maker file to a media player fiel?

When I svae it, it comes up as a windows movies maker fiel not a windows media playter file.

Are you sure your not saving the project file? there is a button that says Save Movie. After you click that, it should export as a .wmv file

Soory. *ehem* All in jest. Playful teasing.

Just merely saving the file WILL NOT save it as a WMV file.
Look near the top of the WMM screen. There should be a button marked "Tasks". click it. On the menu that appears, click "Save to my Computer" under the Finish Movie category. Then just follow the onscreen instructions. TADA!!

instead of pressing save, press save movie file.
