First off, if your tired of these posts, then dont read it. It's for people who are willing to help, and personally, i can care less about your helpless comments.

So with that said.

Yes, i do in fact, need a song to use for my next video. But im running out of cd's! Not one of them had a song im willing to use. The dvd i have in mind is The animatrix. I need something dark and gritty and sad. Nothing overly used, and nothing to new. Most new music isn't powerful enough to display the emotion and complexity of the movie.

I havnt edited in quite a while due to this problem. Much help would be great.

Well, I haven't seen the Animatrix, so I have to ask...

Would you prefer something instrumental, or something with words? If you want something with lyrics, what should they pertain to?

My initial thought was that you could use something from one of the actual Matrix soundtracks, but that seems cliche, now that I think about it.

I'll keep thinking for you, if you like.

I took a quick look through my library and came up with only one band that suits what you have described. It's a pretty new group, they call themselves Noon Blue. The song in question is entitled "Candle" and has the kind of sound I think could fit the Animatrix. It has heavily distorted guitar, a fairly good vocalist, and the song itself is rather sad.

I hope I helped, even a little. Best of luck with your piece.

It depends what you consider gritty. Personally I think a possibility to consider would be 'I must be dreaming' by Evanescence. Of course that's quite unoriginal. How about looking into some Marilyn Manson songs, I'm sure he'd have something

Well, personally I would suggest either "Nothing Can Be Done" by Earthkey, or "Its All Over" by Destruction Organization, by thats all I can think of at the moment.

Evanescence probably has a good song to go with it.
