Country videos?

Post by badmartialarts » Thu Jul 21, 2005 8:14 am

People bemoan the lack of rap videos on this site (when I have seen several good ones) yet I've only seen two country AMVs. Come on, I can't be the only Southerner aroud here who likes country.

Random idea that I might do but probably not because I don't have the right source: Desert Rose Band - "One Step Forward" (which is on their self titled album, their Greatest Hits album, and I believe the GTA: San Andreas soundtrack)

lyrics
You held me up held me down
Made me crazy then you brought me around
Were my darkness and my light
You were my blindness and my site
Were my shelter and my storm
Made my cold then you made me warm
You were my fever and my cure
Made me doubt and you made me sure

One step forward and two step back
Nobody gets too far like that
One step forward and two steps back
This kind of dance can never last

You were my hope and my fear
You were my laughter and my tear
Were my destiny and my faith
Kept me moving and you made me wait
Were my weakness and my power
You were the thorn in the flower
You were my sunshine and the rain
Made me feel so good brough so much pain

One step forward and two step back
Nobody gets too far like that
One step forward and two steps back
This kind of dance can never last

And we never really meant for each other
We were never meant to last
In the years that we danced together
Each step forward we took two steps back
Each step forward we took two steps back

One step forward and two step back
Nobody gets too far like that
One step forward and two steps back
This kind of dance can never last

One step forward and two step back
Nobody gets too far like that
One step forward and two steps back
This kind of dance can never last

Tell me you don't see a good romantic comedy video to that song, a la Love Hina or Tenchi Muyo! or some similar show. I don't OWN any romantic comedy shows, though. :(

I hate the Ramones, so we're even.

And what's wrong with two-step, it makes for a fairly easy beat pattern to sync to, as opposed to something by THe Flashbulb or something. :)

I may have seen a couple... specially of the more pop-like songs (remade stuff like Dolly Parton's 'I will always love you' or Shania Twain/ Dixie Chicks) but the only one that comes to mind is More Than Toast's Little Country Girl. Most country songs (and rap/ eminem) are SPECIFICALLY about stuff (your dog leaving and your girlfriend dieing, same ole' story) and that just doesn't fit in anime. I recently saw an excelant Shania Twain AMV ;p.

personally, i hate most country music (my dog died, my wife left me, she took my truck... i'm gonna miss that truck). because my mom tried to force me to like it for the first 7 or 8 years of my life, but some of the newer stuff is pretty good, i geuss it was the whole "my life sucks, by my CDs" tone that really put me off (and my mom saying "it's good for you!"). The Ramone are fine in my book, because it's one of my dad's favorite bands, and he didn't try to force anything but new foods in my face.
I spent about 7 years growing up in the south, but most of the people there were ignorant fools (there were a whole 3 and a half minorities in the entire school system, that didn't help the ignorant people much at all)

So far, I haven't seen any good country AMV's, and I'd be willing to take a crack at it once I finish some of my other ideas.
First they came for Evanecese, and I did not speak out because I was not a fan. Then they came for Creed, and I did not speak out because I was not a fan. Then they came for the Seether, and I did not speak out because I was not a fan. Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak out for me.
