Editing Anime stills

Post by erasable » Fri Sep 30, 2005 8:06 pm

I think they're called 'anime stills' when you freeze a frame.
Anyhoo. I really liked a freeze I got, but I was wondering whether or not I may tweak it before adding to a video.

Generally, is it acceptable to doctor the footage (ex. add something in the picture) before including it in the AMV? With audiences? With contests?

Do you really think there's any sort of code of ethics?

lol. I guess not, but I believe that in any group there is such a thing as being "annoyingly weird" or "trying to act out" or "an idiot trying to look creative". That AND I'm too lazy to scour all the rules of all major contests to see if they had rules against adding/subtracting stuff from anime stills.

Why do you care what other people think?

Ignoble as this may sound. I care because I want a response, feedback, and hopefully to submit the project into a contest.

If you make it look good, people usually seem to like it.

Heck, sometimes they like it <a href="http://s93771304.onlinehome.us/107-smoothd.png">even if it doesn't look so good</a>.

Have you seen "Tainted Donuts"?

They outlaw this in some countries.

No. So if you cut the video at all, mixed up clips, change the audio in any way, or did anything short of basically showing a clip straight from the show you'll be crucified by the AMV police. Seriously.
