Lol, I feel stupid. [Where do I start in making AMVs?]

Post by Unsheathed_Love » Thu Dec 01, 2005 4:46 pm

Alright, I've been wanting to make my own AMV's for sometime, I've always been a fan of anime. But never really had the time to do any of this. Two days ago, I researched it. I really couldn't find any help on how to create my own. The only thing I got was, I needed video editing software, which I have Adobe Premiere. And needed well DVD's of the anime I had chosen, and cd's for the music.

I have all of that. >_> But I could really use some help, considering I have no idea in what the hell I'm doing. ^_^ Any help would be much appreciated.

first you need to rip the dvds and the cds, then you need to edit the ripped footage to the music, using timing and whatnot, and then you render/export then you compress..

awww youre too nice, i was going to try to see if they could find them on their own o.0

The best place to start is really to watch alot of AMVs and see whats good and bad, and so that way you know whats good and bad..

I wish I had done that when I first started lol, I had no taste back then

After you get an idea on what amv's are good and bad by watching others. I then suggest watching your animes carefully. What you really need to is understand how you can use the scene and the characters to your advantage for some sort of situation.

You will find some videos that the creater took some very popular song and put a few large scenes from an anime to it. In my opinion the amv's that have short scenes that deal with the musical feeling or what is being said are usually the better ones. A great example, off the top of my head The Word Fuck and , one of my own Saving the Princess.

The Word Fuck works with what is being said. Saving the Princess works off the mood the music is setting.

Good luck.
