Complaints can be helpful if you combine them with tips on how the creator can fix the problem. For the vhs through a dishwasher, you could recommend they run the final video through VirtualDub (available in the guides) with some filters to clean up the noise. Subtitles can also be cropped out in vdub pretty easily with nulltransform. If you don't have any tips to fix the problem, just making a general recommendation to 'check the 'clean up video' part of the guides' would be fine. I think that's one of the things that makes 'constructive critcism' okay - not just pointing out problems, but pointing out possible solutions. But that's something it's easier to do in a real review, where you have lots of space and you can read the response.

I've only ever gotten 1 negative quick comment, and it really didn't make me feel devastated or harrassed.

And I don't really leave quick comments, unless I go on a copy and paste corny jokes to confuse people binge, but if I did it'd most likely be to say negative things, because I give opinions on all of the vids I like.

If they weren't anonymous, no one would say their negative thoughts because of fear of retaliations with all 1's opinions. (unless the reviewer weren't an editor, but you get my point) So the anonminity is a good thing, I feel. People who feel so bad over them would feel just as bad with an opinion with the giver's name right on it. I think they want the names so they have someone to bitch and moan at. Grow up. Maybe your vids do suck, if they do improve and if they don't then let the vid roll off your back and worry about more significant problems in life.

the person I was using as an example has gotten several insults of that kind, not just one or two. That is harassment, its not a matter of getting a few negative feedbacks, or someone pointing out flaws in their video.. it is a matter of someone going out of their way to harass someone else and using the QC system to do it. So, dont take it as I said someone gave them a single flame, cause its more like SEVERAL flames, on a daily basis.

I just have more respect for a person if they have the balls to say it to me and let me know who they are and not "hide" behind it like a little chicken shit... (but then again I am not the type to retaliate with "all 1s opinions" or other stupid crap like that)

what I would say in QC has no bearing on weather or not they know who I am... I would say the same damn thing if they did know who I was, and if they are petty enough to think that a few scores are going to seriously hurt me, then so be it, let them flame me in opinion (not like all of my videos are top 10% material anyways). Atleast I would know where its comming from..

I am also not necessairly one to hunt down people who said negative things and "try to make them see it my way"

I've had two negative feedbacks on one of my videos, BOTH SIGNED, and have I hunted them down just to bitch at them that they were wrong?? no, I took it and accepted it, so this isnt a matter of me wanting to go and whine to the original poster of the comment either.

now if someone brings it up in a public arena I might have something to say about it back...

if they dont like what I have to say about their comment then they dont necessairly have to respond back, just like I dont necessairly have to post them in my journal, but if they want to turn it into an argument thats fine, cause I am just bored enough to argue over stupid things on the internet.

I do like the idea of having the QC's since people are more apt to actually tell you what they thought of your video, but I don't like how some people use them. One comment I got was something along the lines of:

What happened to the voices of SOAD?

...Not quite sure what that was supposed to mean...

To clarify, I was more confused than annoyed or anything negative. I like the idea of Anonymous Quick Comments, but honestly, that was a useless comment to leave. 'I didn't like the Music in the Music Video' Okay, great, you didn't like the most important part of the Music Video, that's your prerogative, but just don't leave a comment at all rather than leaving something so useless.

I would prefer if the Quick Comments weren't anonymous, not because I want to know who's saying what about my videos, but so that I can have some sort of response. I have this one where they say there's only the audio, no video. I know this is a codec error, but this person doesn't, and I don't know who it is to help them.

I would like them to stay anonymous and rather have a reply field added.

How bout this, I'd like to leave numbers and not comments at ALL. Since the inception of QCs I don't think I'd left a single one that wasn't asked for or a repeat of what I said in the announcements forum. BUT I do hate when your making an op and you either forget one score or you quickly clicked through missing one score bubble... sucks, you gotta write your whole op over again, thus you get long quick comments.

Bottom line then, sometimes it's best to adapt yourself.

Okay!

Most of you who are complaining about getting
hostile and rude QCs, are probably getting them
from me. Sometimes I tend to be more
aggressive, when it comes to my favorite
animes. But, I don't feel I should have to
apoligize for them. If the video sucks, say it sucks.
I've always been blunt and straight forward,
and I'm not going to apoligize for it. And, I feel
that everyone should be so blunt. If you feel
the same, then give me a blunt QC on one of my
videos. But don't just do that, leave an opinion.

- Chronic

P.S. I am all for Quick Comments, but don't just leave a quick comment.
