First be sure you have AVISynth on your PC. If you dont, then you cannot use avs files
If you installed the AMV app, DGIndex will create the avs file itself. If you downloaded it on your own, you have to write the script yourself. It's quite easy. Just type this into Notepad:
mpeg2source("location of the d2v file on your HD\filename.d2v")
When you go to "save as" type the filename you want with .avs at the end
EX:
gundam1.avs
Then you can begin your chain of scripts.
I don't think you need to load any plugins but if you do, you may need to type these before the script above:
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\AviSynth2.5\plugins\MEPG2Dec3.dll")
LoadPlugin("C"\Program Files\AviSynth2.5\plugins\Decomb521.dll")
just type the location you saved aviSynth to.
This may be out of date so if I made any mistakes, please feel free to correct me.
As for filters, you do that once you finish doing any deinterlacing. For example, here is my script for first Kaleido Star opening:
mpeg2source("C:\Documents and Settings\Krisqo\Desktop\AMV Sources\Kaleido Star Opening\kaleidoop.d2v",cpu=4,upconv=true)
Telecide(order=1,post=4)
Decimate(cycle=5,mode=2)
ConvertToYV12()
Filtering begins here
deen("a2d",7,7,11)
Tweak(cont=0.9,sat=1.3,bright=20,hue=1)
mftoon()
AssumeFPS(24)
Again, any mistakes feel free to jump in a show how much of an idiot I am. (I just do what the guide tells me to and I haven't manually created a scipt in about a year so I don't know how out of Date i am)

If AMVapp is installed properly, then no, you should not need to load the plugins.Krisqo wrote:I don't think you need to load any plugins but if you do, you may need to type these before the script above.
Otherwise, you're pretty much right on the money. I use different numbers in my filters, but it all depends on what you want from the source.

If you try to stick to only free programs, you can make good AMVs, but you won't be able to make really high quality ones. Also, since Fullmetal Alchemist has been licensed by Funimation for so long and almost the entire series is availible on DVD, it's illegal to download episodes of it. Pretty much, this isn't a topic for asking for the episodes or for the music that you want to use for your AMV. This is a topic for asking for general help on the creation of your AMV.fmafreak101 wrote:personally I like free programs although that programs much better

I know I may seem like a nobody, posting all of this, but I'm just trying to explain something to that user. If I came off as rude, I am sorry about that.

Re: i am but....
Go back and read the OP and the rest of the thread, or search the forums using the following words: premiere, vegas, magix, ulead, avid. There are lots of 'which program do I get' threads here, and lots of different answers.diffrentview77 wrote:my movie maker program bit the dust i need another

Most editing programs out there are more powerful and flexible than WMM. Get some free trials, do some reading, use whatever you're comfortable with.
