Creative commons Licences are a some rights reserved copyright licence that you can apply to a work and then allow certain uses of your work. Now since AMVs aren't technicaly legitamite we can't really apply a licence to it. What you can do though is use it for other things you do such as video you produce, writings, drawings, photos, etc. The main site will generate the licence for you for free.
Another thing to do is include CC licenced works in AMVs. I've included a list of links to the Creative Commons Project so you can check it out.

International Commons

Creative Commons Music

I seriously suggest a trip to ccmixter. The music on the site is really good and there is a lot of music to use. Some of it can be sampled and remixed as well. Best part is that it is all legal as long as you keep to the licence on the piece. Get educated. Get creative.

There's a high-quality movie called "Elephant's Dream"
which is CC-licensed. All 15691 high-quality HD (1920x1080)
PNG frames are available at:
http://media.xiph.org/ED/
(my interest in this stems also from the fact that the video
editor I work with uses PNG as its native format, so it'd
be natural for me to edit these). Using CC-licensed music
people can make 100% legal videos (they just aren't AMVs...
yet). It's a very pretty movie, BTW.

I see. Thanks. I thought I'd make this information more commonly available to the community at large after trythil mentioned the licence in the thread concerning Sigur Ros (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=74803).guy07: Bah, who cares about legal and copyright issues, i'll care when they arrest me for copy right infringement. Lol, but some bigger names might appreciate this, good job.
I am going to go and check out that movie shimua-chan mentioned also. Do the same. Maybe you'll be struck with your next great editing idea.
