Re: how do i join a studio?
Premonition Studios, as far as I'm aware, has only ever been a one-person operation (Sierra Lorna).gianki wrote:I really want to join a studio in here like premonition studios how do i do that? someone
What most people do is just start their own. Or get together with a group of friends and start one. Or know some friends who have already formed one and get invited in.

yea, i was considering making a windows movie maker production studios with a few of my friends (guess what editing program we all were using at the time) but then we all ended getting adobe primiere pro 2.0 so that kinda went out the window, anyway, anyone can make a studio if they want, it's just a title for a group of people who worktogether on amvs, and it's up to them on who they let join or not, as for one person studios, other than making a new name for yourself there doesnt seem much point as far as i can see, but some people like to do it anyway

Most studios are studios in name only. A great deal of them (mine included) are a one-person operation.
Rarely, a studio may do some recruitment, but the more established ones are 'invite only' and you need some established track record to join. Plus, these studios are composed of people that are friends outside of making AMVs or became friends because of AMVs.
And sometimes, a person X will work with people from a certain studio Z so much that people think they are in studio Z even though they are not. |:

Personally I consider the idea of studios a little silly, but if people want to have their little clubs, even one-person clubs - eh, fine!
I will never start my own studio and there's yet to be a studio that I would want to join AND which would actually take me. That doesn't meanwhile prevent me from having a good time and making my rounds of the AMV scene - not to mention having people who are reliably there to bounce any video work and ideas off of. I would say that my own 'inner circle' includes two people with vastly different artistic directions that could probably never be in one studio. I never saw that as a problem.
So, I say go forth and make your rounds of the community; impress people with your AMVs and stick to people who can and are willing to help you improve with editing.

being in a studio has kept me in the hobby, without one i probably would have lost interest in AMVs and theres definitely an air of familiarity amongst us and I see each of my studio members as a fellow friend. to top it up my studio 'amvience' is australians only and so we do get that feeling of unity and community and it's an awesome experience sharing AMVs from around the country into a single studio.
