I don't generaly like a video unless it presents a solid point. I may not like a video if it DOES present a solid point, however, I WILL NOT like it unless it shows me there is something THERE to like.
... for me that is.
What to you is the most important aspect of a good amv?

for me its all about feeling and sync. fx are koul but if theres no feeling behind it i really cant get in 2 it. as long has u have a feeling or image in ur head and stick to it and make me see ur thinking its gunna be good. i dun care about anime or song choice as long as it leaves me with a strong feeling and its well synced

Can you have sex with an amv?
Not in the 'normal' context of course...
Zarxrax talks to me about some MADs that do that using the phrase:
"It's like it's having sex with your eyes!"
LOVE THAT QUOTE...
If an amv has a HIGH replay factor [good song, good anime, PERFECT mix of both], then I'd call it a good amv.
I've seen some technically perfect amvs which sucked ass to me... [good use of dvd footage, clean songs, even, good scene changes, but if it's replay makes me cringe, then uh, it's not Master's quality ^_^]
All the technical stuff is easy to reproduce by simply reading the guides, [dur, I did ^_^]
So technically, amvs are easy to make, we practically walk you by the hand to make them...
But making them replayable and memorable? That's ALL you baby!!

To make a good amv you need a good anime, good song and good effects.I had seen higth rated AMVs that dosent even make sense, they just have random action,an AMV needs an story, when you see a profesonal music video you see that the video have a story, and the song is a very impotant part of the story because if you put a song like Go!(a Flow song) you wont put the video of the history of Orochimaru, you have to put a song of figthing dreamers like Naruto,Sakura,Rock Lee,ect.
