While it might be a bit tricky getting the footage, the cat-man Lynx from Chrono Cross has got a lot of that "dark, mystical, spiritual guide" thing going on, albeit as a villain. (He leads people astray.) There's a cut scene of a panther demon attacking Serge in that game, and Lynx's "Feral Cats" attack has lots of black cats in it too.

There are some cats i Tokyo Mew Mew, but thier raely seen. Also theres also a guy with some darkness and mysticism in the anime Shugo Chara!
