No one has said The Way Ben Gibbard will Hate Himself Forever for Losing Zooey Deschanel yet.

I guess I should get around to putting it up on the org officially.

@Sephirothskr: You should check your sarcasm detector.

I already posted NewOverMinds A-Go! but it is my fav because it's just pure fun editing and I watched it the most last year.
Now here's what I think about which were the best AMVs of 2014, also I don't care about the Anime Expo Requirement:

Two Hearts is my Favorite Romance AMV. The only good Toradora Love AMV I've seen up to now.

When it comes to those Atmospheric Multi-Anime AMVs there were many crappy ones (also from good editors) - but I'd say that Dare you to Dream was my favorite. It's a Ghibli Tribute and for me it's the best. It has a great emphasis on flow, both in motion and color. So it's supernice to just look at it and get lost.

Now Charakter Profile - I enjoyed Closer To Hell the most. Monster in me was cool too.

There were plenty of funny Vids this year and The Fox with its good motion graphics and simple theme had much charm, but my fav goes to Perils of Galaxy Bouncing.

There were almost no good Action Vids, atleast I didn't encouter much these days  still I think Dark Chornicle is my fav, it has just the right editing for a good action.

Fav Sentimental is Essence of Life and fav no-fx is Moustached Carnival.

Other Videos I liked a lot this year are Blue Brain Conundrum, Wir können alles and Fact & Fiction.

I also edited some AMVs this year after quite a Break. Strangely the one I like most is the one I spent the least ammount of time on and which was basically just a stress-reliever. Tanz. English Translation here.

My list...

I've never been too into "Chalk Zone", but I appreciate the effort, and this above video is one of the best parodies I've seen of an opening theme for an American Cartoon. For best effect, you should be familiar with the original cartoon opening before watching (it will only take a minute).

A minor-scale Viral Video turned into a MEP. Excellent execution, I expected no less from the top-notch editors on this MEP. This AMV had to be done, especially because Linkin Park / In the End has a huge meaning to the AMV community.

Solid Multi-anime AMV. Not much else to say really, aside from "I don't understand German but it was awesome anyway". (At least... I think its German)

Whenever a massively viral video comes out, I bet every editor thinks to themselves how they'd attempt to make an AMV to it. Personally speaking, all I could think about was Naruto. To see someone use Spice and Wolf as the source, and to make it work _very_ well surprised me. Great job here. In particular, the source audio has clearly been edited for length, but I personally can't find the "seam". A rare example of both sound editing and video editing to make the video a reasonable-length.

I didn't expect this. You just... can't expect this video.

Otakon Favorite, although as usual, Otakon had a ton of good stuff.

------------------

War Paint by Syliyn
Phoenix by Fall out Boy
Action AMV

This one is youtube-only as far as I know. Also a favorite of mine from the Otakon contest. The action-song doesn't immediately feel like "Magic Girls" to me, but it is a gentle reminder that Magical Girls are often Badass. "Put on your war paint" == Magical Girl transformation sequence. Obviously.
