noone here jsut turns on winamp and their anime and lets it run? I've found many a cool idea doing that. But as for gettings stuck mid vid, still haven't bested that one yet.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

I usually just do something else for a while. Make sure and have the radio on in the car, or grab one of my wife's or my CDs at random and pop it in the player. Poking around the forums here is always good as well- the idea for the vid I'm working on for ACen came from something that whacked me over the head while looking over the info on Willow's Animix project...

I think the base of any video is mainly the song itself, so if you find an original, cool song that no one's used yet, you've already got a good start on your video. I usually just go through all of my favourite songs and, if they haven't been incredibly overused yet, start running anime scenes through my head to the music. I can usually get some ideas just by doing that.
But if you can't find a song in your collection that will work with any anime you've watched, go song searching. I've found that listening to new music can really get the creative juices flowing. Ask for CDs or song suggestions from your friends or siblings and listen to new music, sometimes they actually listen to cool stuff. About half of the songs I used were suggested by my older sister or taken from one of her CDs.
You can also search for songs by artist and try listening to songs you haven't heard yet from certain artists.
