It usually takes me a about a month (3 hours a day) to finish my vids. My current video is taking about a month and a half. Most more complicated videos take about 2-3 months to complete.

That question can't really be answered since A) each of us have different definitions about what is good and B) each of us has a different level ability/talent and thus some things take longer.

Again, it can't be answered since everyone is different. I know people who can make decent videos in 20 hours, while it usually takes me over 100. Now if either is good is another story.

There's no set "X hours = good video" formula. Just go edit.

Curiously, what were each of them? My guess is "Life on Mars" for the 5 monther since that's the period I don't remember you releasing anything. I'd imagine Appetite took awhile too based solely on the fact I love it :P.

Hehe, actualy, Appetite was finished in a little under 6 days from concept to upload. I made it right after last year's AWA and was inspired by meeting all awesome people and great editors.

But you're right, Mars took me the longest simply do to the fact that I kept running out of usable footage and had to rearange the video several times before I liked it.

Not to be rude, but isn't it obvious that everyone is different in the world?

Basically some people struggle with concept and thus take longer to plan. Others struggle with timings and thus take more time to get tight timing. Even more people struggle with effects work. Get the picture?

Just edit and don't worry about it being too fast or whatever. If you like what you're making what does it matter how long it took to make?

Dude I hate you. Not to be rude to your other videos, but this is easily my favorite of yours and it took you 6 days. Damn! I guess I can't complain too much since my best video was completed in two weeks and a number of people on here hate me for that.

I guess (heh, as I said) there's not timetable. Sometimes things just click and work quickly and sometimes they don't.

I can believe that.

A few days before Iron Chef ACen, the sponsor called me up since they couldn't fit all the source on the HD and I had to beg them to put back Macross: DYRL and take out Armitage III instead since I was going to use Macross a lot more. Given, I could see people making videos to Armitage, but for my concepts it was the one I imagined I'd use the least.

I think I also fell asleep while "preparing" for the contest and watching it. It didn't help that Elizabeth Berkley was the voice for Armitage.

My first video took 6 hours. When I just started with all my old videos they all took about a weekend of pure editing.

My AWA pro vid took... umm lessee.. like 1 week of hardcore (4 hours a day on weekdays and 8 on the weekends) editing, and then like a week of tweaking... But it's one of the few videos I actually had fun the whole way through the process. Other videos I've had to force myself to finish, and in the case of Anger Management, I was pissed off and depressed the whole time.
