Kids, I urge you to listen to this guy, he speaks the truth.Tsunami Jones wrote:AC/DC suck?! What's wrong with you?? AC/DC is a quite simply, a great musical group. As for ancient, well, they are "classic rock", but overall they're quite better than the majority of new bands today. Most bands today no one will remember in 10 years.
Just because we need some more AC/DC on the books...

Personally, I think that series like Ranma continued on TV because of the fact people still enjoyed them, and as long as people enjoy them, what's to stop it? I mean, I'd say the best comparison here would be that Ranma was probably one of several Japanese equivalents of Cheers. People may not have wanted to see it go, and it was very much like a friend (another quick jab there, ha ha). There are plenty of series that even granted what I just said, could've been shorter for the better good, though.Tsunami Jones wrote:Very true. There are many series that simply don't need that many episodes. And some series seem to go on forever . . . like look what happened to Ranma 1/2...Kaji01 wrote:Ever heard of moderation, man? FLCL was an amazing six episodes, but it would have lost much of it's magic if Gainax had tried to continue the story past there...
As for music, if there weren't "ancient" bands (little tip here, ancient is a term best used to describe something as old as classical Greek lyre music, not something from the last couple of centuries), and therefore older music, then we wouldn't have the majority of good or above average bands we have today, since most of them took a lot of inspiration from those pioneers in music. Before you start saying something sucks, look at something deeper than age, and if you weren't looking at age, take skill into effect. Then make your judgement.aura20 wrote:no no no. first of all, AC/DC is an ancient band that SUCKS and i will not let you defile the wonders of .hack with it. if you do, i will hunt you down and kill you
And for "defiling" .hack with AC/DC, give me a break. "Defiling" isn't exactly a word best suited to doing any sort of AMV work at all. What a creator wants to do is what they want to do. If the resulting video from an eccentric anime/song mix is bad, it'll be swept to the wayside. If it's good, then it will be praised for originality and remembered for a long time. I'd probably say that half of the creators on this site make seemingly strange choices for music to set to their videos, but no one ever bugs them about it because they can make it come off well. I mean, setting a song by the band Shampoo to Evangelion (sorry for plugging myself on that one) is something that many people would think would "defile" Eva, but since it is so skewed and came off well, it can be chalked up into the "Eva comedy" category. A song or band cannot defile an anime, and a bad video can leave someone feeling like the series was butchered, but a bad video can be used as something to be improved upon and perfected, regardless of the musical choice.
Sorry if this threw the topic off, I just needed to vent that little piece of steam.
