It was fun as hell to make this video, but i dunno if it will for some other rap songs.

Although it's actually a video game music video, I made a AMV to "This Means War!" by Busta Rhymes with Ozzy Osbourne.

i did one to Cypress Hill's "Dr. Greenthumb". It's an odd choice of anime (Bottle Fairy, Cowboy Bebop, and FLCL), but here it is:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=34110
for an idea that (as far as i know) hasn't been done:
Wu-Tang's "Da Mystery of Chessboxin'"
somehow I think the intro lines (either from or reminicent of "Enter the Dragon" would play well with an anime theme.
of course, you'd have the challenge of getting people to understand Ol' Dirty Bastard (I think it's Ol' Dirty Bastard with the odd enunciation) when he starts singing.
not the deepest of rap songs, but something outside of the modern MTV scene.

actually, a friend of mine is thinkin of doing a video with 'Da Mystery of Chess Boxin'
but first, he's thinking of doing one with 'Hell's Wind Staff' cause if he doesn't, i will, i already have the anime choice and some scenes picked out... no i won't announce them or make the video anyway... unless he says it's okay
and yes, ODB is special... you have to play his lyrics backwards to understand him but it's worth it
the song in ur video was starting to repeat at the end
it also needed more transitions, and the characters that were lip syncing in the intro kept changing who was lip syncing, that Jed dude was suddenly played by all the fairies... it seems like a work in progress, but it's not
someone is bound to say it, so i might as well bring up the point of ur necro-posting
trust me, to meee it's more of an observation then a complaint, i don't see it as bad, just fun, and actually it's a good thing that you did necro-post instead of creating a whole nother thread!

i'll post in whatever threads i have a response to, figuring that people continue reading these things for a while after they stop writing in them. something like "oh, btw, i made one of those too - and i have an idea that sorta follows what you were talking about" wouldn't make much sense as a standalone.
and yeah, the video is a bit (ok, very) rough around the edges. it was one in a batch of ten videos that i did within two days as a test of a bunch of different styles and ideas rather than an exercise in trying to make the absolute coolest video i am currently capable of (ok, one of them was, but it's excessively long by music video standards and, as a result, has yet to see a review and probably leaves most people thinking "oh, that was pretty" or "what the fuck did i spend the last twenty minutes of my life on" - not that the sond it uses (Pink Floyd's "Echoes") or the art form it portrays for about 60% of its duration (ballet) don't have the same effect on people).
and, as far as i know, you are the first person to pick up on the fact that the bottle fairies were lip-syncing at all (not sure why, i figured it'd be kinda obvious), or that they were sharing sensei-san's lines (the "jed" portion of the song). i tried a version with just sensei-san, and didn't like it, but maybe i should have stuck with that one.
you are the third person to tell me that there aren't enough transitions - and you're definately right on that one. there's a whole episode of bebop ("waltx for venus") that i made clips out of but forgot to actually include in the final video. a lesson learned, i suppose, in taking a bit more care on the self-reviewing process.
the song repeating is just a bug in the software i'm using. the solution, i've found, is to pad the audeo track with silence when it is shorter than the video track, or else it starts looping.
i am working on a set of three videos right now that are definately being done with more care, but which aren't even remotely rap videos, so i'm not going to get into details here.
