This might sound dumb...but what is bait and switch? I'm sorry, I havent' been into computers for too long...I just got my laptop, and I'm pretty happythe upgrades I got for it. :)

What I know about it so far...:

AMD Athlon 2500+ with 1.87 ghz
40 gig hard drive
512 mb RAM

Programs:

Adobe Premiere pro
DVD decrypter
Vdub
DVD2AVI
Avisynth version 2.5
Adobe photoshop 7 (much cheaper then the new ones so what can I say?)

Wow SS121, You've become a 'Pro' already? That incredible! I guess those few things that I was helping you with sent you hurtling into the super uber 1336(1/2) world of Professional Anime Music Video Editing!!! Don't sweat it though. I'm sure that most 'Pro' level editors are unfamiliar with ye' olde baite and switchey.

How does one even know when they become a 'Pro' AMV editor? do we start to get paid for it? Cause if so I gott lied to!! >:0

I for one I'm not gonna even pretend that I'm a 'Pro' anything at all, nor am I going to pretend that anyone, aside from myself, my friends, and my fiance' care about what my computer's specs are. (and sometimes I doubt they even care:P)

You know I was joking with ya ;) You've already proven to me that you are a 'Pro' in the respect that you are sticking to getting this whole damn premiere/avs/amvapp stuff to make sense before you pop out another video:P That alone puts you above tons of editors in my eyes.

Yeah, it's especially troubling for someone who isn't used to working with programs such as these also. But hey, I love anime, I love music, and I love that feeling of completion...oh yeah, everyone here knows what I'm talking about. That feeling that you've finally put what you saw in your head onto that pixelated screen...but we're getting off topic.

I know you were just messin, and I'll probably be on later tonight. Now that I've completely learned how to work avisynth ^_^ I can actually edit some real footage of Eva! Wahoo, just bought the entire series for a whole 44 bucks...including the two movies 8) ...off subject again! I must leave before I get booted!

Yeah, don't sweat it. I don't consider myself a pro either but I just wanted to throw in a good word for "ye olde baite and switchery." (, especially since it's such a new techniqe)

You can find details here:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... etb.html#3
It's near the bottom under method 3.

Basically it's making a uber low quality avi that's frame specific to your .VOB's and using those to edit. You can save space because you don't need to keep the .VOB's around the whole time and you can edit a lot faster. Once your done you just swap the .avi's out for the DVD rips. Viola!
