I've done that with every single one of my AMVs.

Take me as proof that this method does not create a good finished product.

I have a hard time waiting but I always somehow manage. The thing is that I tend to finish my videos MONTHS before Anime Expo which is the first con they premiere at, now if they don't get into the finals I'll wait even longer till AWA rolls around and that's difficult since I tend to finish my first work before the new year. What gets me through it is that I start sending them to all my friends to get some feedback ahead of time.

pacing and waiting

Post by MikaelJuha » Wed Oct 06, 2004 4:47 pm

i'm always pacing before my pc while my amv is being preveiwed by me over and over, seeing errors en such. then after like the thousandth view, i finally upload it, i actually have several made, just i'm still pacing for that right moment lol.
My strength is not that of the mountains, nor is as vast as the plains, nor does each wave crash upon the shore and thunder like lightning into my viens...but that which i can muster, and that which i will, i will bring myself foward into this world like no man has done before...

The worst case of this for me came with my first Naruto video. I release it before I considered it finished, just because I was sick of editting the thing. Now, I've got it to a state that I finally feel is finished, but it will take a whole new entry into the catalog.

The lesson I've learned is wait, unless of course you don't mind multiple catalog entries for what should be one video, and or have video entries that you know could have been much better.

I hate it when my patience falls short and I end up doing less of a job than I could on a video. That's what happened with my Animix project, among a few other things I'm ashamed to call my own.

Yea i've had that befopre... getting sick of editing the stupid AMV so it is damn near flawless, and skimping out on the end of it... & uploading it cuz I want to be done with it... but I try really hard to just go through with the video as far as I can like I did at the start of production. =)
