Out of curiosity, what convention was this?Luirru wrote:I downloaded both the virtual sub and virtual sub mod, but they do not open the file. I created it on Windows Movie Player as that is what I was told to do from an anime convention that I attended said to use.
And I'll assume that by "virtual sub (/mod)" you meant "Virtual<b>Dub</b>(/Mod)", and that by "Windows Movie Player" you meant "Windows Movie <b>Maker</b>" and not "Windows Media Player".
http://www.eo-video.com - use this to convert to a lossless (read: HuffYUV) AVI, and re-compress that using AVISynth and VDub(/Mod)Luirru wrote:So is there anotherprogram that opens\uses those files or is there a way to change it from its current file type into an .avi format?
Alternatively: http://www.tmpgenc.net - if you rename your .WMV to .ASF, this program will usually take it; it's used to convert to MPEG-1 or MPEG-2
Better: Some people report that AVISynth's DirectShowSource command works for them. You can load it into VDub(/Mod) that way and re-compress.
Best: Go back to WMM and export using the DV AVI option instead of any of the .WMV options. You can find instructions for that here:
