Actually I think that it false dilemma, dicto simpliciter or the nautralistic fallacy.
No, it's the straw man. You were attacking a distorted position.

A false dilemma would have been you presenting, say, a choice between "effectsy" and "good" vids, which you didn't. Dicto simpliciter would have been you making a sweeping generalization: "all effectsy vids cannot be good". Naturalistic fallacy would be appropriate had you said or implied something like "More and more people are starting to dislike effectsy videos, therefore they are not good".

No, it isn't straw man because I wasn't trying to push their argument over, I was trying to do an over simplification of the concept of fun. But whatever. It's a bad argument either way but then again it's a stupid post. =)

Can I PLEASE destroy those people?

Anything with a self-insertion or original character insert needs to die. I have only read ONE fanfic where the original character was good. ONE.

Yeah, you're right. I think AMVs are a lot better than the videos which are on MTV.

The straw man fallacy is not concerned with overturning the original argument. It's about overturning a distorted version of that argument, which you just admitted to (i.e. oversimplification). Hence, straw man.

Perhaps secundum quid would also be fitting.
