Use of Manga in AMVs

Just make sure to use motion. Without it your video is not a video, it's a slideshow with fades.

Sir Lagsalot just produced a wonderful example of making manga dynamic using Beserk scans.

there was one on the Pro discs for the AWA pro contest that used manga scans pretty well. I think it was a naruto video, but I can;t seem to find the video now. I don't remember much about it except that it was naruto and used manga scans in an interesting way. I guess this post is not very helpfull, but maybe someone else can point to the said video.

I'd say good usage of manga can be found in this video:

It may not have as much manga scenes as you are looking for, but where they were used was effective.
