Uh, I cannot tell you how much that angers me. But like I said...I don't even KNOW because they can't be bothered to comment. I don't know if they hated the video or just don't care about the ratings.
I'm usually a "no stress" person if i can be... but i dont feel the need to waste my energy on getting mad at a number like that... I cant take it "personally" cause its not personal, its a harsh harsh cruel world / website...

but then again, I've given up on caring about star ratings, or even opinion ratings... I like to focus more on what IS said, and told to me, especially if i can learn from it.

10s and 5s are nice, but very rare...

I like following star ratings and 10% and stuff like that, but i cant base my taste or "hopes and dreams" or "self worth" on them..

not to mention so many good videos on this site go unnoticed, its hard to just get the "top rated" ones just cause other people gave them good numbers...
Still, I don't like the fact that editors work really hard on some vids and some people just blow off any type of comments because they're too lazy. At the absolute very least they can at least give the correct number from 1-5 what they thought.

Yeah, I can see where you'd get frustrated...I say that I don't, but truth be told, I *do*...sometimes, at least.

I like comments, either in the form of opinions or QCs. What I *don't* like are flames. If you thought my video sucked, ok fine...but what could I have done to make it better? Not all of us were born with a god given talent to make amvs...most of us work really hard at it and learn how to get better...and for me, I learn by having other people point out flaws and give suggestions. And for someone to say "This sucked ballz!" and have that be their *only* statement...well, that's just plain rude. I can't learn a damn thing from that, except for the fact that whoever left it lacks a decent amount of social skills.

And 1s...well...like Jadd said, there are people who do it just to be lazy. Others do it just to be spiteful. Is that right or fair? IMO, no...but my opinion on that matter isn't going to change the behavior of those who do it. I just try to tell myself the reasons for why people do it in an attempt to blow it off...and as I said, *sometimes* I'm successful.

And that is my long-winded .02 :P

I believe that people should be constructive in their criticism of AMVs for two reasons. Firstly it'll tell the editor what was wrong with it, allowing the editor to improve and secondly it'll go some way of supporting the community. If all you get is jerks that give insulting crap then people wont want anything to do with the site or possibly the community at large.
