See, i'ver heard if you live too far away from their headquarters, you tend to wait too long for your shipments. Since you're paying by the month, the company makes money of intentionally being slow to ship your order. - a problem with any rental company, but more prevalent with some than others.

Honestly, since you only need to rip a copy and send it back using netflix or other online rental companies, it seems just as bad as downloading source (in terms of what we consider moral enough to not talk about here). Anyone find the hypocracy odd?

I heard somewhere that if you werent' a premium member of netflix, they put you further down ont he priority list or something.

As for as the hypocrisy goes, I think it's "Well, you're technically paying money, so there!"

So, what if you're one of the idiots that pay narutofan or some other site to download? Is that okay too?

I'll revise it to "You're paying money to get a piece of hard media."

Just to clarify, i'm not saying we should or shouldn't do it, but that it should be publically discouraged just as much as downloading by the site's own moral standards since our biggest ally, fair use, only works if you actually own the media in question.

Mine have all come from Dvds that I or my son own. I guess if I want a series I can afford to buy it. If I don't want the series but want some cuts from it, my son probably has it. With over 2000 dvds there isn't much he doesn't have, or will have.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Man I wish I owned 2000 dvds. :(

Anyway, I buy my dvds for footage. As I've said awhile ago, I get a double incentive for buying dvds: 1. I get to watch the show and if I like it I own it 2. Even if I don't like the show I can use the dvds as footage. It's an extra justification for my dvd habit.

I knew I wasn't the only one who did that.

One of these days, I want to make an AMV with some footage from every Newtype DVD I own, just to see how many anime I can put into one video. XD

And then I can be like.
"Oh. And none of this was downloaded."
or.
"And that is all my Newtype Subscription was good for."
