apparantly fear is in the eye of the beholder...

I second Godspeed You! Black Emperor. They're an entirely instrumental band, though it'd take some work to cut down their songs.

Some of Sigur Ros's stuff is pretty dark too, and in the same vein as Godspeed, and their songs generally aren't as long. The frontman sings some, but it's all in either Icelandic or a completely made-up language.

It's obvious this dick doesn't know what he wants. He listed off Apocalyptica - Path vol. 2 and something from .hack//SIGN as examples.

There are plenty of apocalyptica songs that have rarely if ever been used. I'd recommend the Apocalyptica album; Ruska, Farewell or Quutamo could all work well (And there's a hidden version of Quutamo with french lyrics to be found as well).

...Hey, did you say Apocalyptica? o.0 Seriously, I know that band. I'm from Finland like they are. Oh, I'll just put a Finnish band here (I don't actually know many bands from other countries...).

There's Lordi. Lyrics of "Hard Rock Hallelujah" (with which the band won the Eurovision Song Contest.. first time for Finland): http://www.eurovision.tv/english/2115.htm

and the lyrics for "Blood Red Sandman": http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/ ... E800166EE1

And here is their music: http://www.lordi.fi/main.site?action=si ... view&id=40 (The video link shows the music video of "HRH"... creepy. Check the girl's expression in the very end. 0.0)
-----------------------------------------------
OK, some AMVs have been made with the music, but with "BRS" only three and with "HRH" only two. That's not much.

Burnt offerings
"Sword in hand, at the bloody fields of History
We rent our blades through dogma and humility
Carve a future, according to our will
Set worlds ablaze with our seething fire
Let you all acknowledge that we are here
As masters to rule this failing humanity
Our beings forged of rage and defiance
With strength to trample the weak and the foolish
And so we march with burning brands
Temples aflame, on our path to glory..."

I'm the only person who nomally uses this band, but Man...or Astro-man? have quite a few creepy songs in their repertoire, especially off their last couple of albums when they got truly experimental. A geood example song of their creepy variety would be "Obligatory Part 2 Song In Which There Is No Presently Existing Part 1, Nor The Plans To Make One."
Life's short.
