Premiere Pro 2 worked just fine for me the first time I used it at the Ohayocon AMV Wars event. With a 2.4gHz P4 HT and a gig of RAM it ticked along just fine...while other editors in the event suffered crashes with WMM.SQ wrote:Eh, I've been working with Premiere Pro 2 for a while and I don't think it's a good choice for AMVs.
To be honest I think it's great, and in a pinch it handled XviD files without a problem, be it exporting or in preview. Scrubbing through footage made it chug, however. Using something other than XviD would probably help...
PP2 is going to remain my program of choice.

Making amvs is really fun, but just remember -- It's a lot of work! My advice when first starting is to always think positive. It's a good thing to watch other people's creations, but don't try to live up to their videos. Don't feel put down when it seems like you'll never be able to achieve what others have. And finally, make sure you learn!! Half-assing something just because you don't want to spend too much time on it or something is too much of a hassle will get you nowhere. Good luck!

I could never go back to Premiere (from Pro) cuz the regular lacks ANY audio editing features. I can't understand how anybody can use that POS. I have Pro 1.5 and it has been AT LEAST as stable as Premiere was with me. I really don't see the correlation other than one is obviously better than the other...
PPro also supposedly edits in RGB. I don't know, but I pretty much only rip my clips in rgb (Huffy) anyway...

I'm just a premiere 6.x type of person. Having it legally also means I'm more inclined to use it than Pro, since I believe my corporate serial finally ceased working with 1.5. Truth is Pro, and I've used it, is resource hog even more than previous versions. And I'm running an Athlon, so 2.0 is out of the question anyhow, because I don't have SSE2.
