I mean... Yeah I would just waste time in just a different way. I had another hobby and some other stuff I´m interessted too, but yeah I think: To set the core to amvs was the best choice.
Or... haveing a life. No j/k. Tomorrow I go out again and meet my friends :O like at every other weekend. Ok I skipped this summer one day with my friends at a lake due to a deadline.
You can find me on YT under "Bauzi514". Subscribe to never miss my AMV releases.

Actually, I'm going to rectify that a little because now that I reread it, it makes it seem like I don't like the poeple I've met and haven't enjoyed myself, which is totally untrue. I've made a lot of friends here, I've met some really awesome people, and I found a way to express myself creatively that actually satisfies me (I can't really draw well, and photography has its limits as far as I'm concerned).CrackTheSky wrote:x2shinodude wrote:having a life
And I'm not just saying that to be funny. I have almost no social life whatsoever, and it depresses me to no end. Although AMVs aren't really to blame for that, I've wasted more time on this computer doing AMV-related things than going out and having a real life, and I really do wish I could take that time back and be more socially active.
So it's not like the time I've spent has been wasted, exactly. It's just that there are many times where I look at people around me who go out a lot and do things with their friends, and I really wish I could be like that, but instead I just sit myself at my computer for hours on end and ignore the people around me.
So AMVs don't have much to do with it. I just wish I were more social to begin with :/

Well before i started going into this hobby i was hacking video games [like modding PS2s or hacking Maple Story/Ragnarok/Gunbound]
Then it got boring...so i tried programming, lots of it, so i spent a few months doing C++ and Javascript. After a few months to maybe a year, it got REALLY boring...
So i went back to hacking, along with my new programming knowledge....boring!
Next i made home-movies for my father, he had recordings of church ceremonies, retreats, and parties. He wanted me to make a few vid compilations, which is where i first made my low quality home movie!
Then i started doing magic tricks, i have NO idea how i got into them...so then i said, "why not record my magic tricks and use AviSynth to make them BACKWARDS" [whoo backwards...]
So my cousin and i started doing stupid stuff in reverse...just for fun
Afterwards, i got into a state i called the dark ages...nothing happened...i woke up in the morning, watched TV, went on the computer, studied some SAT books, and went to bed.....
Then my brother suggested to me that i should make AMVs, my reply was "no way, that's too hard, i dont have any clue on what to do"
so then i was goofing off in C++ Graphics Studio making 3d fields when i remembered what my cousin said, so i decided to check a few AMVs out on YouTube first...
They peaked my interest so i came here, and checked out some of those How-To guides and things like that, then i posted my first thread and asked some questions to the public.
So here's my conclusion:
1. i didn't really waste much time, just a few days >.>
2. if i DID edit for several years/months, i would use those same hours doing what i did above, in the same order...
3. my last choice would be going back to hacking video games, fun stuff XD

and I can kinda agree with the get a life thing, because I don't have any friends (locally) who understand or like amv editing.

Let's also mind the fact that on average, AMVing is at best the 5th most time-consuming hobby of mine, so even if I gave it up and spent it on one of my other hobbies or non-hobbies, in relative terms it'd be a very minor difference. It's hardly a detriment socially, too, probably the opposite if anything.
