Nio *did* ask for it.
haha I wasn't really commenting on your post d:
(somehow I just after I pressed submit, I realized you would take it that way..
I was typing out my response and well it started getting really long and I felt it would be better posted in my livejournal (which by the way I posted it there)... so I was talking about my would-be-post.

By the way Ileia sums up my thoughts fairly well
Actually, I thought you were talking about the responses Nio would get, not just min specifically. It does kind of resemble one of those "Here are ten questions, answer it, post it, and send it to someone else" lists, doesn't it?

I feel like my best editing days are behind me. I'll just continue to work on whatever projects seem interesting to me though, as long as I still enjoy doing it.

I was razzing MCWagner at awa one time about why I don't get any awards at AWA and he spits back "well you could start by submitting something I can ACTUALLY SHOW!"

I was going to write a post about how that quote is a metaphor for my artistic method and whatnot but I think everyone can make the connections.

I set none. I have no expectations of myself or of others. I just do what I want whether I get good or bad comments.

I expect you to finish Eidolon. :nono:

Seriously? I think I'm lucky (hah) to have not really made anything spectacular that people compare my videos to. I expect myself to do better with each video, but obviously that's far from the actual case.
For others, as much as I shouldn't, I'll start to form expectations based on what they've done previously. If I recognize a certain editor as bringing something really new to the table with each video release, I'll expect them to continue to do so, and be disappointed when they don't. It works the other way as well, I expect someone to release a video like all their others, and bam, they do something cool and new and it's a pleasant surprise.

It's somewhat frustrating, to be constantly expecting a certain outcome from an editor, but it's also something I think most people fall into because it's just simpler than to expect something new/different/imaginative every time and to have your hopes high.

You ask too many questions Mitch. :I

My first goal was to get my work shown,

My next was to win an award so I got something out of this hobby.

I accomplished both of those a few years ago.

So now I just edit and winning an award or being in the finals is nice, I got what I wanted.
