We still won't know what a 'boochsack' is.
Project Gateway will wrap up just in time for everyone to drop their tracks at once. ...again.
All posts in the forums will be a part of a single, massive stream of conciousness thread.
blabbler will turn 13.
A mass migration will leave 82% of the world's editors living in or around Chicago. Possibly in the same house.

More AMVs will incorporate original material (3D animation, vectored images, real world footage etc) because new programs would have arisen to make creating original stuff easier than ever (e.g. maybe someone creates a plugin for current 3D animation programs that gives you all the objects to make the animation like giving you Lego blocks to play with).
The Amvience site will still have Yuutube crap and stolen gifs on the front page
We'll hear of cases of people suffering dehydration, sleep deprivation, mental and physical suffering maybe even near deaths because people editted in these marathon Iron Chef competitions too seriously.
This thread may end up not being available for review in 5 years to confirm whether or not we were right because the forums either collapsed catastrophically or have gone through a renewal and the database is wiped.

Good topic
Well, where do I think AMVs will be in the next 5 years....
- Some very popular AMV maker will die
- Basically what you said about youtube
- Another lossless codec
- People will still edit with dbz, naruto, and bleach
- Limp Bizkit will be the new Linkin Park of editing
I'm brain-dead right now. I'll write some more stuff when I get my head straight.

I predict in five years:
- The super cool kids and the not cool kids will still be snarling at each other from a safe distance.
- Newbies will still be cowering in the corner because they're afraid of the super cool kids.
- Fan stuff creators will still be locking horns with copyright laws wherever we turn, but we'll still do whatever we want and find ways to get around them.
- AMV Org will need another server.
- I will still not give a damn what the cool kids are doing because I'm a stubborn old bitch with a single track mind. In addition, I will still be struggling with a piece o' junk computer but at least I'll have around 10,000 songs to work with.
- The masses will still rave about the top 10 most popular whatever-is-fashionable-at-the-time while I stick to my long time favorites. The masses will also over use whatever is on the bandwagon du jour so much that I will continue to automatically be turned off by everything that is extremely popular.
- Vlad will still be here.
