That's just "standard practice" of the music industry - and shouldn't assumed to be correct. Most intelligent, ethical artists nowadays fight for their intellectual property rights, and in this, I think they should have our support. I'm surprised you should even ask that question. And props to Imi for taking a stance on this.BasharOfTheAges wrote:Why not? I can publicly state that I own the apartment i'm renting. It's certainly a PR disaster if the labels say anything about it publicly though.

NOWAY, you can rip the music from YT wich great sucky quality and that's why ppl won't buy CDs anymore !Bauzi wrote:That´s great to hear.
Now be honest: How many videos are out there with 30+ comments where no one asks about the name of the used song? Labels should realize the potential.
support the labels ! don't edit to music anymore !

Wait... what? The fact that the standard practice of the industry is that the label owns your rights, not you is exactly why i would ask that question.Otohiko wrote:That's just "standard practice" of the music industry ... I'm surprised you should even ask that question.

Sorry, I got a bit snarky there.BasharOfTheAges wrote:Wait... what? What I meant is that obviously the practice is ethically wrong and instead of questioning the artists, we should be questioning the practice. And certainly applauding every effort by artists to resist it.
