I don't give ops much anymore unless its a video I really, really like (I don't op videos i don't like) so for the most part im one of those annoying all-10 op spammers that normally only ops vids by their friends and shet.

So basically... no I don't put much thought into ops. Not like its a big deal rite? :|

Depends. When doing exchange or free ops threads, the ops I give are very serious. But still tend to give somehow "inflated" ops. I'm a rather easy 10 giver, and you can see that since my avg given is pretty high. However, I still comment every aspect of the video. Also, I give full 10s easily on vids that are supposedly "jokes" and alikes... :P
But yeah, I don't give 10 on a "zomg perfect!" basis, more like that if I can't find flaws, then I give 10. Since nothing and nobody is perfect, 10 isn't perfection, but it's the absence of evident flaws.
Maybe that didn't make sence, but that's how I feel... :?

I don't think theres anything wrong with all 10s, if there is nothing wrong there is nothing wrong, if you feel bad about it then usually you'll say something pointless about 1 frame which was off =P

Extremely biased test group you're working with here. Those that would even admit to answering the question in the negative are mostly of the "never post on the forums" and "i'm only here to download that awsm vid i saw at XYZcon" variety.
I was more interested in finding out whether or not the active forum users took ops seriously since it's easier to just ask then to download videos and look through opinions, which would take days and I've already exceeded my monthly bandwidth limit (dammit I need the damn pro package).

What irritates me is when somebody just posts all 10s without even thinking about it. Even my #1 favourite vid has a 9 for originality. What I'm trying to say is, I 've seen more than once when a person put's all 10s on a video and it doesn't make it onto their top vids list even though they have vids that they scored below all 10s. It just get's annoying because it could affect the video's rank and in turn negatively affect another videos rank.

Truthfully, I only give opinions to those videos in my "Free Op" thread or to videos I truly want to op. But, yes, I don't think about the op's I give.

I may rate a lot of 10's... primarily because the person did a good job... thus I will give descriptions for why I rated 10/10. When I first started op'ing vids I wasn't very descriptive but I'm learning what to look for and what I enjoy to see and therefore basing my opinions on that.

It took me a half an hour to finally finish an op once... just to make sure I got everything lol

Opinions must be helpful. I know my word count isn't very high but I try to give helpful opinions as much as my knowledge allows it. No matter if it's a free opinion or an exchange.

Hmm

And getting normal scores with a honest opinion is better than getting opinions with 10s and spam (as I said before in a journal entry).

i can't just give one with out thinking a bout it i actually watch the video
over and over and try to find something i don't like not something i like
and as long as there a lot of bad things as long i'm gona be
more detailed so a good amv makes the job harder for me

and for me a tow phrases op makes the whole thing to me usless
because i didn't post my vid just to get this i did that for feed
back so putting some effort wouldn't kill you :(

I take ops seriously that seem to take themselves seriously? Doesn't mean I agree with them, but usually it's fairly easy to tell when a decent amount of thought (of whatever kind) has gone into op scores/comments. Since often one gets a variety of ops - some serious, some not - I don't know that you can ask about taking ALL ops seriously. That sort of implies one can't tell the difference between a serious op and a non-serious one (whatever that is).
