The metal gear ideas i don't really consider very substantial (i hope that's how u spell it) yet.. more of a passing thing. But i must ask that u please do not confuse the metal gear franchise with shoot em up action games or FPS games. They are stealth games. You are rewarded for evading your enemy. except in the parts where you are forced to fight. (must try to keep this short) If i sound mad.. i am actually a bit flustered, because every metal gear solid game is a masterpiece, the epitomy of gaming excellence, and they really deserve so much more than to be thought of as "shoot em up" games. just had to get it out of my system, now i can move on.

I REALLY would like to see my second idea put into action. u said u had thought of a few anime to go with the song, and i would kinda like to hear them.

P.S. i have no idea how to make an AMV, so ur a few steps ahead of me

Okay, I have Love Hina music on the brain...as well as DDR withdrawl. I haven't played it in a whole TWO DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AGH!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, that's pretty corny, but at least you know the psychotic nature of my addiction now.

Anywho, this one ought to be short, but who knows with me...

Laz_the_white - yeah, yeah. I understand all that Metal Gear Masterpiece stuff (I DO read gaming magazines and check sites, you know...) Still, stealth or anything of the sort, I don't like those games. Personally, I feel that the Final Fantasy series is the epitome (not epitomy; sorry, grammar police on patrol ^_~ ) of gaming excellence. Everyone has their own preferences; that happens to be mine. Now that we've exchanged gaming passions, let's move on. Um, give me a little time on that "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" idea. Some of the anime that I originally thought would be good actually might not work very well. Also, I should ask you something: are you a guy? The whole Metal Gear thing kind of set off my "that's a guy" alarm. That's not to say that girls wouldn't like those games (though I don't,) but it's more of a guy thing. Anyway, if so, then I suppose that you don't really like shounen-ai (gay romance, more or less,) right? If not, then that sort of throws out some of my anime ideas. Anywho, get back to me, alrighty?

Any Anime - Fastball – “Vampires” – you know, I’ve had this one sitting in the back of my mind for a long time now. Problem is, I just can’t come up with any really plausible (side character) ideas for it. All I can think of is a really great Chise/Shuji SaiKano video! I really really love this song; it’s a strange, mellow, romance piece. This is one of those cases where I’m just going to throw the song suggestion out and hope that someone likes it enough to make a video. Maybe one of you knows a good anime for this song...? Depending on the video presented to me, I might give a review, just cuz I like the song so much.

Any Anime - Madonna – “Nothing Really Matters” – again, all I can think of for this one is a really great Chise/Shuji SaiKano video! So, this one is going to be left up to artist’s interpretation. The piece leaves nothing to be desired as far as an interesting beat goes, and it isn’t terribly short or long. This is a weird song, but it is one of my favorites of Madonna’s. I’d absolutely love to see a video to this one, and I might even review it, even if I didn’t know the anime. I guess it depends on how well the video is done.

You know, it was only inevitable that I would run out eventually. Don't worry, though - my think tank isn't empty by a long shot. Although, I wonder at times if these ideas are in vain. I've been complimented on them, but it always seems that people either don't know the anime/song combo, or they just aren't interested. Oh well. I like making up the ideas anyway, cuz it gets me thinking AND it gives me ideas for my own videos. I just wish that someone would consider doing a video to one of the anime that I've seen.

Okay, I sounded pretty whiny there I know (when DON'T I sound whiny...?) It's just kinda frustrating I guess. Anyway, it's crazy - I've been a part of this website for almost a full year now, and I still feel like a complete newbie. I'm still nervous to post on other people's threads for fear of sounding like an idiot (more than usual.) Oh well. Considering that most of this post was pointless, I'll stop here.

I think i got that subject line from an amv banner add of all places.. and the funny thing is that DDR has taught me the truth of that statement all too well. I haven't played in a while, and i can still feel my heart aching to play it. Altho i am afraid to play it upstairs.. i might start knocking things off shelves.

Thanks for the correction, I hate being wrong and not knowing when I'm wrong (altho i am quite lazy, thus the lack of capitalized I"s everywhere). Not quite sure where this fear of ignorance comes form, but it's there.

Yes I am a guy. Not exactly the average guy, but i fully believe that i would like metal gear solid even if i wasn't...

So I tried making a post with some of my ideas in it before i moved on to post on this thread. There is something inside of me that like a roadblock for most everything i do.. it's like this voice that invalidates the execution of my ideas by putting countless doubts inside my head. Maybe a lack of self-confidence? But the relevance of this is that instead of thinking that i could make an AMV or 2 of my own, I would receive the pity of someone out there and they would execute my idea for me. Someone posted on my thread that maybe i should open up my movie maker, get a feel for what I can do, and try to make my own.. It was like a slap in the face.. or a block of C3 to shatter my mental block in a fiery explosion.. But anyway, I now feel that I am ready to move on, so i have a question or 2.

I know that there r some Dos and Don'ts for the creation of an AMV. Firstly, I have some dvd quality anime on my computer. They r .ogm, so no subtitles. Would these be appropriate to use? Also would mp3 files be acceptable for audio? If need be i can download the highest quality available.

All i have is whatever movie software comes with windows.. I don't know what it can do, but I'm sure there is much better software out there. Any recommendations? Please include a link for download if there is one.

P.S. Is crying acceptance or rejectance? the thought hit me and i can't get rid of it.

Okay, if that seemed random, then just glance ^up^ at my subject line. Hey, you know me - always keeping people on their toes. Anywho, I've got nothin' else for this intro, so...

Laz_the_white - let's tackle this in order again...
1. Banner ads rule! Also, I'm on ground level, so the only thing I have to worry about with DDR is crashing down into the basement. My house is soooooo old.
2. Oooh, I know. Having something wrong and not knowing drives me CRAZY (not that that's a long trip.) However, since language is the field I'm going into, I feel like I should keep on top of things with grammar and spelling. From everything I've been told, learning a lot of languages (especially similar ones) totally messes up those two things.
3. Hey, even I was a guy, I know I'd still love Final Fantasy. There are just some games that can capture just about any audience. Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid happen to be two of them.
4. At the very least, you should try making an AMV. Don't worry if it's crap - most people's first ones are. You should know this, though: making AMVs isn't for everyone. If you really, truly don't want to do it, then don't. If you have any inkling, any spark of interest, though, then hop to it! For all you know, you just may be one of those people who prefers watching AMVs to making them - and that's okay, too. Just try it once, though, okies?
5. Hoo boy, I am NOT the person to consult on Do's and Don't's - the reason being that I do just about everything WRONG according to this website's suggested rules. All I can tell you is that downloaded episodes, music, and programs are a BIG no-no. AMV-making is a costly habit for the really dedicated people. You have to shell out money for anime DVDs, music CDs, and editing programs. So, all I can really say to you, is "do as I say, not as I do."
6. Crying is neither acceptance nor rejection. It is merely an emotion - an expression of great grief or great happiness. Ultimately, crying proves that you're still human - nothing more, nothing less. How's that for philosophy? ^_~

Well, time for my......!......um, maybe not...? Truth is, I have no suggestions this time. I'm a very negligent idea creator, it seems...

So, because I feel great shame for my failure to present you with top quality ideas, I shall depart now! Oh, the shame!

I consider our basement as downstairs. Even though the floor is pretty sturdy, i think i would probly shake my room and surrounding areas up pretty good.

I also know what u mean about the multiple langauges thing. My friend and I lose our ability to speak english more and more as time goes by.

I'm kinda poor right now, so i can't actually buy any anime. (the only anime i actually own on dvd is fushigi yuugi) But i believe that my idea deserves at least one chance at execution, so dvd or not, good editing software or not, I will try it at least once. I care not how much time it will take. The wheels turn, there is no going back now without much regret later.

P.S. It took me a while to think of something to say, because i didn't want to stray from the post topic. Then i realized something: nothing exists to bind me to the post topic, I can say what i wish. Thinking that i could only speak my thoughts if they pertained to the topic was only an imaginery lmitation. Please read "playing to win" at www.sirlin.net if you really wanna know what i'm talking about. I honestly think everyone should read this article. Although it applies to games on this site, it can apply to almost everything in life.

It focuses on Toguro and Genkai from the YYH series. There are some about Genkai, but very few(like 3 of them.) and its not like the other 98% of the YYH vids that are about Hiei or Kurama (I have nothing against them, its just that they are really overused.) I have also never seen another YYH vid focusing on Younger Toguro as a main focus, not his final battle with Yusuke.(ie, showing the struggles he had went through, or like this vid, showing the relationship he had with Genkai.)

Actually, I do have an excuse for being so late with my responses. Seeing as how no one wants to hear it, though, I'll just get on with my responses. ^_~

Laz_the_white - hey, if you have that kind of dedication to making an AMV, then go for it. Even if it's not the way this site suggests, it's still an AMV, and plenty of good ones have come out of less-than-superb sources. So, I'm completely behind you. I just figured it would be better to make you aware of the "rules" of this site. You know, I read that article that you linked to, but I really didn't think it was anything spectacular. I already knew all that stuff about "cheap" moves. Hell, I wouldn't a Final Fantasy X guru if I didn't use "cheap" tactics. That's how you have to beat the special bosses of the monster arena in that game. Of course, there are some games (*glares at Devil May Cry 2*) that don't even NEED "cheap" tactics to win. To be honest, I don't consider any move "cheap." They're just other ways to complete an objective.

Kaiba57 - though I don't know the anime (nor am I interested in it,) I appreciate you linking me your video. As for comments, that pink haired person was a guy???? I thought it was a chick, if maybe an ugly one! Anyway, your editing was solid, although it took me a while to figure out exactly WHAT beats you were editing to. You went with the off-beats, which is cool, but it takes the viewer a minute to determine if it's really really good editing, or really really random scenes. Since I don't really know the character relationships, I don't know if the song is appropriate, but it seems to be well-chosen. I can't say much else about your video other than it is VERY well done, and thank you for suggesting it. (As a side note, "Remember" is one of my top ten favorite songs of all time, and you have done it justice.) Thanks! ^_^

Chobits, and any other appropriate anime – Phish – “Gin and Juice” – Minoru (Must Have Him), any other appropriate characters - OH. MY. COD. This idea is so deliciously twisted that I couldn’t help it!!!! For those who don’t know it, this is a bizarre country remake of a rap song. I hate rap, but this song is hilarious. Now, as for the idea, think of this: Minoru is Snoop Dogg, hosting the party mentioned in the song. His maid Persocoms (and Yuzuki) are the “hos” mentioned. Shinbo could be Dr. Dre. And the “ho from Compton?” Yup, that’d be Shimizu. I just have this completely absurd image of lip-syncing Minoru with all of his slutty ‘coms to back him up. Of course, I realize that this likely wouldn’t make nearly enough footage; that’s why I said that any other anime that are deemed appropriate would be okay. This idea is totally fubared – am I the only one who thinks it would be hilarious?

Gravitation, Yami no Matsuei – Nine Inch Nails – “Sin” – Tohma, Kitazawa, Muraki, Saki, Tsubaki, Maria, Mariko and Maki - I really love this song, and I’d love to see a great Gravi video to it, but for the life of me, I CANNOT think of an idea that doesn’t have Yuki or Shuichi in it (mostly Yuki, though.) If anyone can think of a way to make it work, let me know! My second idea is a bit more plausible. I can also see a twisted Muraki and Saki video to this song. As for the whole ‘sin’ part, I interpreted it as Muraki doing everything in his power to bring Saki down by destroying other people’s lives. Let’s face it: Muraki and Saki’s relationship is twisted – completely, undoubtedly twisted – and Muraki is a guy with some serious mental issues. That said, I think this song is perfect for him. Moreover, it gets away from the whole ‘obsession with Tsuzuki’ concept.

That yeah, and Ash's rival! I forgot his name...XP But yeah. And you could have the Pokemon proffeser guy...forgot his name too. XP The one that gives Ash Pikachu. ^_^ But yeah, you could probebly do a lot with Ash's rival....^_^ And dont forget, you can probebly use the Pokemon's ATTACKs, if not the Pokemon themselves.... ^_~ As in, a clip of a fireball zooming through the air or something...just dont show any Pokemon. ^__^

Oh and, BTW, I am not going to look through 8 pages of posts to make sure no one else said the same thing, so sorry if I am just repeating someone else. But yeah. ^_^
