My first AMV I saw was not on this site. It featured Armitage III and the song "Fear" by Disturbed (I don't remember it's actual name). Kind of found it on accident, and what a life changing experience it was.

The first one I saw was a Dragonball one... Shut up. It was many a year ago. The Audio was Hero of the Day from Metallica I downloaded it off Scour (Or whatever it was called). I didn't know what AMV's were so I though that it was official.

The very first amv I saw was a Final Fantasy IX video to the song 'She's So High'. I have no clue who edited it, but I enjoyed it and began doing searches for more. ^ ^

I believe the first one that caught my attention enough to make me make them myself was
In The End : Final Fantasy IX

But that was a few years ago now.. I watched a dozen before that but I really don't recall them.
Darkness beyound twilight..
Crimson beyond blood that flows..
Burried in the stream of time is where your power grows.. . .
In thy great name I pledge myself to DARKNESS, let the fools who stand before me be destroyed by the power you and I hold. . . .

Shonen Dizzy Cow's "Evangelion Opus" still one of the best damn videos ever made, got it a p2p network years ago.

My first AMVs were by a contemporary of mine that really, really needs to get uploaded here via proxy entry:

"Slime Creatures from Outer Space" by "Weird Al" Yankovic set to various clips

"Surfin' Bird" by The Trashmen set to clips of the Dorii Bird from Captain Harlock

"Christmas at Ground Zero" by "Weird Al" Yankovic set to various clips

All of these were done by Matt Murray of Corn Pone Flicks.

Probably one of dannyPoo's first videos (old school!) in the tiny little RM screen (resolution 160x120).

... good times
