No offense to all those laptop editors
but there is no freakin way you could actually edit with a laptop unless....unless....hmmm
you have super ultra extreme liquid cooler...that freezes your computer
My old laptop crashed right at the start when vegas tried to open
and yes it had enough RAM to handle the pressure @ Windows XP..FTW!!

Actually, i've edited on my laptop before. Heck, the laptop I have now is leaps and bounds better then the first PC I ever edited with (166mhz P1 MMX with 32megs ram)
So yeah, it can be done. Just... slow....

The first few years I was editing was mostly on a 600mhz Intel P3 laptop with ~300mb of ram and 20gb of storage. You kids these days have it easy

This is one of my projects that I made with a project that has nearly the same specs as hasteroth's. It's in 1080p by the way...Kyotachi wrote:No offense to all those laptop editors

Everything is possible... I still work on my laptop. Even after 2 years and I'm more than pleased with it.
I spent my first 5 years editing on a 266Mhz machine. The first few years I was editing was mostly on a 600mhz Intel P3 laptop with ~300mb of ram and 20gb of storage. You kids these days have it easy

it would be still more comfortable to edit with a Desktop Computerngsilver wrote:Actually, i've edited on my laptop before. Heck, the laptop I have now is leaps and bounds better then the first PC I ever edited with (166mhz P1 MMX with 32megs ram)

in my case ...I could never really focus on editing when I'm on my laptop ...
in my opinion...laptops are not meant for editing period XD

I can agree on that.Kyotachi wrote: it would be still more comfortable to edit with a Desktop Computer
When I have work to do, I hook my laptop up to my 26" monitor and add a wireless keyboard and mouse. So it's somehow like a desktop computer.in my case ...I could never really focus on editing when I'm on my laptop ...

True that but still...it doesn't feel appropriate with a laptop...either wayBauzi wrote:When I have work to do, I hook my laptop up to my 26" monitor and add a wireless keyboard and mouse.
