Right now we are thinking of a possible mid april release date and we will need at leat 2 weeks before to get everything put together and ready for net broadcast. We haven't set a specific date yet but within a week we will. Tomorrow I will talk with Ashton and find out his progress and when he feels that all the section heads will be ready to go and then we will put out a due date. As far as your staff goes, that is completely up to you as section head you have the power to hire or fire (used loosely since none of this is for money so it should be more like accept volunteers or let go volunteers).

Not to be rude, but as a writer there's a few things I'd like to know...

1)When's the deadline? I mean real deadline, not "a couple weeks." I've got a LOT going on right now and if I don't have an exact due date it's not going to get done.

2)Is there any way to set up a yahoogroup or something so that this info can be somewhere other than 8 pages down on the forum? ie a file area, etc?

3)Would it be possible to set up a list on a website somewhere so that authors know what everyone else is writing about? This way, for example, there aren't two editorials on the same thing, or, if two creators want to write about the same thing, they can find out and possibly do a point/counterpoint setup.

4)When are article assignments coming out, how long do you want them to be, and again, what's the deadline?

Thanks a bunch.

Dont worry, this project is open to critizism and debate. Even though we need to keep it organized we still need people to say "hey wait a minute we need to do this better." As to your questions:

1. Like I said when I talk to Ashton tomorrow we will set a due date and a release date.

2. I have a page I am creating right now that will display all the info. If all goes well it should be up by friday.

3. This information will also be included on the website. I am planning by thursday to have a complete list of feature stories as well as general articles.

4. A. The articles are in two catagories: assigned and free-lance. Assigned articles will be given out mostly by section heads. I am the editor of the Digest but the section heads decide on articles and the assignments given to writers. Free-lance writers basically just write articles at their disgression and we decide if we put them into the Digest. Free lance writers have much more freedoms than assigned writers, the aren't confined to topics that they dont pick out and they dont have someone over their shoulders trying to make sure that they are completed on time. B. Article size can vary depending on their status. A cover story will naturely be longer and more in depth whereas a general article will be shorter but no less important. The cover story for the most part wont be decided until the final layout of the issue is decided upon. Even if we assign an article to be a cover story if that article turns out to be less than originally hoped for and a free lance article that is submitted or another article is much better we will more than likely assign that story as the cover story. We are more worried about content over size. We could set a general limit but we fear that it might limit the quality of the article in general. We are gonna try to be as flexible as possible with the size since we want to make this magazine as good as possible.

Well I hope that answers your questions, I am trying to make sure that this all gets done and is good as well as fun to write and read. Opinions on the Digest are welcome as well as opinions about how and what we are doing as staff members. It is critizism that makes things stronger because it makes you go back and re examine to make sure that things are all right.

Sheesh, NOBODY'S gonna do that here... ^_^ I wonder, who'd be dumb enough to do it for free just so he can get his name in a net magazine...

Note to self:
Write more posts including the singular use of the words "indeed" "quite" or "indubitably."

Your fans love you for it.
