are you asking me to name EVERY person i've come across in the last year that's been an ass, or at least given that impression?MCWagner wrote:Panda: OK, lets try it this way. If you've been insulted by someone's attitude, name them. Until then, I'm gonna have to disregard whatever point you might have, 'cause it isn't useful otherwise.[/i]
wouldn't that be too straightforward and be pulling this thread into another direction?

there's one... there's way too many to remember.
only... this Wagner guy isn't elite like most. ^_^
i love you.
how can you expect someone to just make a list, hell, alot of these people aren't important enough to remember, let alone i've never talked to these people since then so their names are forgotten.
once again... im speaking in terms of experiences.
and dont try to sound like you've never experienced this.. because i'm sure you have. unless you were on the giving end instead of the recieving.

I think naming names will just cause more drama and pointless arguements which is probably what you want to see.
I think being more general makes everyone take a step back and think, Hey that's not the type of person I wanna be, maybe I should be more aware of my actions in the future, which is something we could all use.

Hokay, let's review the thread thus far.
Panda: Most of the people here are jackasses. They think they're elite, but they're not. They're rude to newbies. All those people should stop all that bad stuff.
Crowd A: Yeah! All those bad people should stop doing those things!
Crowd B: Yes! Excellent post!
Crowd C: Wait, "most"? I don't recall seeing any of this. Could you give us some examples?
Newbie A; I haven't been around very long, but I haven't seen much of this. Everyone's been pretty nice to me.
Newbie B: Wait, more people hate "Person X" other than "Person Y" who's always ragging on him? I figured that was a personal thing. Who are you talking about?
Crowd D: Could you list some of these "elitists" as well? I used to think that some people here were really elitist, but I found out I was wrong when I met them in person.
Panda: Oh no, I've met a lot of these people in person, and they're just as much jackasses in person as online.
Me: Who?
Panda: Ain't tellin'.
How about you start by naming ANY of them? Thus far we only know that you think Hsien Lee is "elitist", and we're not even sure of that. At least three other people came on the thread to say that they'd met Hsien in person, and that he wasn't elitist. Do you have a reply to that?are you asking me to name EVERY person i've come across in the last year that's been an ass, or at least given that impression?
Towards an actual point, and possible changes to remove all these problems you see? Yes. What's wrong with being straightforward?wouldn't that be too straightforward and be pulling this thread into another direction?
THE' HELL? I come into this thread, point out a few flaws in your reasoning, try to point out what I thought was your actual point, make suggestions for you to restate your point to make it clearer and more understandable......-MCWagner
there's one... there's way too many to remember.
only... this Wagner guy isn't elite like most. ^_^
And I'm acting like an ass to you? That makes no sense at all. People who challenge your arguments with reasonable counterarguments are being mean to you?
Actually, this is starting to make a lot of sense...all of a sudden.
(Oh, and did you mean to say I wasn't "elite" [meaning that my work isn't very good] or I wasn't "elitist" [condescending to others]? I think you got a bit confused at the end there. If it's the former, then you must at least have a mental partial list of the "elite" if you know I'm not one of them....)
But wait! You've met a lot of these people in person, remember? If you were so offended, wasn't at least a few of those meetings memorable or recent enough for you to remember some names? Please? Two or three would do at this point. We're trying to compare our own experiences with yours. We've probably met some of these people. Our experiences should back up your statements.i love you.
how can you expect someone to just make a list, hell, alot of these people aren't important enough to remember, let alone i've never talked to these people since then so their names are forgotten.
Funny, a lot of people have come into this thread to say exactly that. That they haven't experienced this. Are they just lying?once again... im speaking in terms of experiences.
and dont try to sound like you've never experienced this.. because i'm sure you have. unless you were on the giving end instead of the recieving.
(Oh, and look at my post counter. Could I have possibly done half the things you're making accusations about in 16 posts? You, yourself, have nearly 2000)
Panda, you seem to be having a lot of problems that other people just aren't seeing. Have you considered what that might mean?
Again I'm a big meanie for wanting people to back up their accusations when they say most of the people in AMVs are complete jackasses. As someone who makes AMVs, has many friends who make AMVs, and has met many AMV makers socially without getting that impression, I was insulted. Rather than fly off the handle, or leave in disgust, I ask that you back up these statments.I think naming names will just cause more drama and pointless arguements which is probably what you want to see.
Actually, what it does is make most people think "well, I've never done any of that...so I must be on the side of the saints." Which doesn't help anyone...I think being more general makes everyone take a step back and think, Hey that's not the type of person I wanna be, maybe I should be more aware of my actions in the future, which is something we could all use.

Whoa! This has to be MCWagner's shortest post ever!!!
Its a miracle! Something that makes sense!
