i guess this thread went another direction already.

people are assuming this thread is about 'elitists' when it's not. it was about AMV creators in general. including 'elitists'.

i guess we all missed that point.

I can also vote that everyone I met at AWA....which is like 90% of the comunity, are GREAT people! Wonderful to talk to each different in their own way and in NO way asshole like....

I will admit from the things I heard about Justin I wasn't looking forward to meeting him...afraid of things I heard. But I must say he is nothing like people make him out to be....he's a nice guy that kicks my ass at DDR ^^ I thought I was good...well not compared to him ^^;

You can't judge people from the way they are online, or things you hear about them. You need to meet them for yourself before having any right to an opinion.

It's true that some people can get a slight ego from being well known. I don't want to use anyone else as an example so I will use myself.

I get a lot of fan mail and I know that my work is widly spread...it's a scary and conforting thought at the same time. But I don't have an ego, I make a point of not having one. I don't go walking around telling everyone who I am...unless they ask. Not everyone is the same, but I think it's the polite thing to do ^^

Its a wonderful feeling when someone complments your work...but I don't think it should go to your head.... ^^ (don't kill me people I'l just talking my opinion^^;)

Once again, I can say that no one I have met in the AMV commnity is a ass or a bitch. Please oh please stop the bickering about this topic...it's pointless to point out names and cause trouble like this....

We are essently a group of people with the same interests. We are family, in a sence. Lets not abuse and pick on these people...we are just like the rest of you....

Uh, actually, half the people here don't seem to know what you're talking about, and half of them are the newbies that you say are being abused. So, you are wrong. Everyone out there does not know what you're talking about. (Oh...and who are you to point fingers? You're the one who was wildly gesticulating back at the start of the thread. The post comparison was just pointing out that I don't have many posts....)

I'm sorry, but the only conclusion I can come to at this point is that you are incredibly thin-skinned and incapable of responding reasonably to inquisitive criticism. At this point, I think nearly anyone could get on that list of yours. God knows I must be by now, despite the fact I was just trying to figure out what you were talking about. Anyone trying to point out holes in your argument is "bitching." Just being rude must take a truly minor infraction.

So, I'll narrow it down to just two questions for you to respond to. I'll try to keep it simple, and I hope you'll actually answer these.

:Ahem: If the majority of the people in AMVs are jackasses, and they need to stop being jackasses.....but most people here don't know who they are....why aren't you helping to point out the problem? If they're egotistical jackasses who don't like you anyway, why do you care about offending them?

I would like to ask a question of MCWagner though, since the thread seems to be an argument between two people now. (Sorry...you're welcome to join in) If Spanda released a list of names wouldn't it just cause an even bigger flame war than the sort of small fire that is going on now? Just food for thought..

Ah! Good question. Yes that is a possibility. However, how can we fix a problem when we don't even know what, exactly, the problem is? Some people may be percieved as "elitist" when they aren't (as several posters have said). Some people may post in a way that they don't think is condescending, but other people think is "elitist"....so the poster doesn't even know that people don't like him/her. Anyone who's actually "elitist" won't care what Panda thinks anyway, so what's to loose?

I mean, look. Beowulf wasted that entire rant on Panda, 'cause he had to assume who Panda was talking about. So far, everyone who's been brought up turned out NOT to be on the list........which just means that no one really knows what Panda's talking about.

Hell, I might agree with Panda. I just don't know what he's talking about. Considering the responses...it doesn't look like anyone else does either. "Most" AMVers are jackasses?

Sub0: Again, just trying to figure out what Panda's talking about. Not trying to rub anything in. I thought with a little prodding I might figure it out....but Panda keeps recoiling from anything resembling a question.

I.. I don't have a good answer to that. I suppose its possible that an 'eliteist' wouldn't give a damn whether Spanda posted his list or not. And its even possible that the 'eliteist' people don't realise that they are 'eliteist' so naming them might give them a signal that their behaviour isn't acceptable.

I'm undecided on it, on paper it sounds like a great idea but I'm sure there is a downside that I'm missing. Maybe Lyrs is right and this thread should just be killed where it stands.
