Haven't heard that one in a while lol
It's a slightly correct premise taken to the extreme and explained retartedly.
There aren't genres of music that you absolutely can't make videos to, but there are subgenres that use lots of specific lyrics that are pretty much impossible to find representations of in available source footage because of cultural differences. Lots of subgenres of Rap are like this. There's some Blues like this. A good deal of Country is like this. A fair amount of Bluegrass is like this. Cultural satire and commentary disguised as music no matter what the genre is like this. Surprise, it's hard to match Japanese cartoons to music drenched in specific American thematic elements. If you intend to make a
serious video with
literal lyric sync, these areas of music are extremely difficult to work with. If your aim is parody or satire, then you're in
much better shape. If you want to claim the lyrics are all metaphorical, have evidence of that, or make sure you hone up on your BS skills. All that poetry analysis they made you learn about in English class has to be useful for something, right?
tldr; you can use any genre of music to make comedy, ergo, you can make a video with any genre of music. If you want to be serious, you can handicap yourself with song choice.
