My vids never feel finished to me, I'm always looking back at what I could have done differently or improved more.. Then theres always the "I wonder how this scene would work if I put it here" feeling, I've done a ton of those and redid them and redid them just for the hell of it till I had something that "felt finished" to me.
So, I guess to answer your question better.. Nay, I enjoy finally creating the videos that constantly haunt my mind telling me to make them. And as long as they entertain me, and I have substantial motivation to complete them, then just seeing them come to life is a pay off in its own. Anything else that comes with that pay off is extra's on the side.. tasty desserts (Compliaments, awards, etc) which are nice to have and add some extra omph power (Motivation) to bring the next haunt to rest. If I don't get any dessert then at least I'm still satisfied with what I made, and don't have to worry about the vision popping back into my head saying "Make me.. make me now".
Well, those are my feeling on a finished vid anyhow. Hope I'm not coming off as too deranged

I usually feel apathetic when I finish a video - I expend enough emotion making the damn thing that I usually stop out of frustration or content. There is a time when good enough really is good enough. Of course, that's not what to do on the path towards greatness, but who REALLY needs that anyhow?
Honestly, though, I usually stop working on a video when I don't see anything glaring at me that's wrong, when all the footage looks RIGHT, and when all the uglies are gone. By that point I've stressed and gotten on with it. Then again, I get to relive all that when I spend a few hours writing the liner notes, checking final encodes, etc. Joy.

I get mad while I'm making it, because I can't make it work, then I leave it alone for a bit and get all depressed a bit, then I finish the project and think "I worked that hard for this??" and then I realise I re-used 3 bits of footage from like, another video (My 2 best Evangelion videos. "Nothing Else Matters" and "Bring Me To Life" both have these scenes in them:
1. Rei/Lilith coming up from earth and growing wings
2. Rei/Shinji in the sea of LCL
3. The result of EVAs 5-13's S2 engines (the big pink explosion)
4. Shinji screaming in Unit 01 after he sees whats left of Unit 02 (transparent with another track in Bring Me To Life, so...)
5. Rei/Lilith reaching out for unit 01)
Wait *counts footage* thats like....6 bits!!!
And I cant help it!! I dont know whether to distribute both of them, or just the Bring Me To Life one....
And there you have my AMV dilemna, and final mindset upon project completion.

I agree with SarahtheBoring
Some people here take AMVing too seriously, For instance, I asked Mr Spam for an opinion on my video and he gets all technical on me about what type of video footage I should use for my AMV... I thought I was using...good video footage >:O! anyhow, I do it for fun. I am not going to spend 6 months on a video perfecting every last detail. OH and when I finish my videos I like to get comments on them and this site isnt providing me anyone who is willing to comment on it!!! so lately when I finish AMV I get MAD and also SAD

Lemme get this straight... So far you have given 1 opinion on the org but yet expect people to just throw opinions your way? I'll never understand this mindset.nrjize wrote: OH and when I finish my videos I like to get comments on them and this site isnt providing me anyone who is willing to comment on it!!! so lately when I finish AMV I get MAD and also SAD
If you want ops, you gotta give them.

(Also another reminder of the stack of reviewing that awaits me )
Everyone is not the same as you.
Get over it.
And lighten up.

By the time I finish a vid..I'm more than ready for it to be done..I usually have 3 or 4 vids in the works at all times..just depends on my mood on what I decide to work on at any given time. I'll encode a vid about a dozen times, going back and fixing little things here and there... before I finally say to heck with it and pick the one that looks the best. I think the longest I've ever spent on a vid so far was about a month..and the shortest time being two weeks.(Sometimes I have an editing spurt and will edit nearly nonstop over a 24 hour period) ..but overall..I'm generally relived when I finish a vid..then take a break from it for about a week, and have a go at it agian...
